Jacksonville signed Toby Gerhart. I assume this is to set up a Tebow/Gerhart backfield. So many lunchpails.

To the surprise of no one, Miami got their left tackle. Now they just need like 6 other offensive linemen. Kinda would have liked to see them grab Byrd, but I suppose it didn't really make sense financially. Somewhat surprised that Tampa was able to lure in a couple top FAs (Verner and Michael Johnson). Aaaand finaly, LOL@SF for trading for backups Jonathan Pussyboy Martin and Blaine Can't-Beat-Chad-Henne Gabbert.

An NFL caliber coach will do that for you.

Imagine how good Martin and, to a lesser extent, Gabbert, will be once they are part of a legitimate NFL franchise.

It's the most wonderful day of the year... when the most impatient of fans freak out because their team's GM didn't solicit their advice.
We lost Talib to Denver already. Which is fine with me, he won us some games, let out other DBs play in their natural position, and generally improved the team. He also lost us the Carolina game single handedly, and couldn't stay on the field, he's got a bum hip, and that's not going to improve with age.
I'm looking forward to nothing big happening according the the Kraft/Belichick mold. We'll be starting a whole pile of rookies, and will slowly improved over the course of the year, then get pummeled in the playoffs again.

I heard another NE fan say they'd sign Revis now that they lost Talib.

I think the best chance to sign Revis is before the deadline. If they can convince him to renegotiate down a bit, just to avoid being traded to a clown team like the raiders.

True, the coach helps, but so does a good QB. I don't really watch the Bucs, but I've got a feeling Glennon isn't the guy they're going to want taking snaps for long.

I'm 100% in agreement on both counts.

Josh McCown, baby!
In other news, 13 AFC starting QBs have retired with Denver's signing of DeMarcus Ware. Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware? I never thought it was possible that Peyton Manning's career could be longer than Andrew Luck's, but it might.

I'm pretty stoked about a defensive backfield with Jarius Byrd, Kenny Vaccaro and Keenan Lewis.

Yeah, I just saw that. Haha. Maybe next year?

I honestly wasn't expecting to win it all this year.. just rebuild and get the big pieces in place to make a run at the playoffs.
Josh McCown is not a big piece.

McCown will work for Lovie Smith's way of doing things at least for the first year or so. VJax is a decent outside option for any QB to work with, I just wonder if it's too little too late to get the most out of VJax.

Gerhart is a pretty solid back. I hope he does well now that he's no longer AP's backup.

Oh, I meant finding a QB. I suppose they could still draft one, but it doesn't seem like there are any must-have QBs this year (and quite likely next year as well; I don't keep up with college ball at all, so I could easily be off on this). Looking at the short-term, I'd have thought Vick would have been a more interesting option.

This is the NFL. Not the Pac 12. Gerhart is a back-up running back that just got paid big money in a soft RB market.
I'm not surprised by the move given the organization, but mismanagement of organization resources does not a good signing make.

All I know is what I've seen watching him run when he's had the chance, and he was very solid. Whether or not his averages hold up with more touches remains to be seen. There's a reason the Vikings can't keep him, and that's because he's better than a backup running back, and until AP moves on, that's all he'd get to be in Minnesota.

Kramer: Oh, this baby loves the slop, loves it, eats it up. Eats the slop. Born in the slop. His father was a mudder.
Man: His father was a mudder?
Kramer: His mother was a mudder.

Kramer: What did I just say?
