I saw the game last week.. Falcons aren't that good. Vick looked like a rookie and I don't think it will get much better.

Maybe we could coordinate with one of the mods to close the thread each week before the start of the games if we are seriously going to bring silvers into it.

How do you delete a post? I inadvertantly put the Bucs on there instead of the Seahawks and changed that - before I saw this post. Why not restrict edits to the day before first game of that week?

I did say the day before the first game of that week. Which would generally be no edits after Saturday...but deleting is fine.

I have no doubt it'll be a contest, I just think the Vikings passing game will dominate the Eagles suspect defensive backs. You lost Bobby Taylor. You have no CBs. Jevon Kearse will probably be out with an injury soon. Culpepper threw for 5 TDs last week, I think you're in trouble.

If you want to talk underdogs, let's talk the Bears. No one, on any message board I've been to, has picked them over the Packers. They'll win. Lovie Smith's main goal when he came in was competing against the Packers. We haven't beat them in three years, and we had a defensive coordinator who was quoted with saying "Sacks don't matter." We're going to get a lot of pressure on Favre, and I guarantee he won't dominate us like he has in the past. This will be the upset of the week.

So far I have 14 players. Couple things I found out:

Just pick the winners so that I can simply copy / paste onto my spreadsheet. Leave all your comments to the end.

Make sure you are posting in the same order as I originally place the teams.. again, so I don't have to edit my copy/paste.

You can edit your picks all you want because I will do the copy/pasting prior to the first game. After I have your picks, tough shit if you change your mind and go back and edit your picks. If the 14 people prior to this post wish to change something, make sure you send me a U2U prior to the first game played and I can change it on my spreadsheet to match your edited post.

This should be some fun stuff this year! Good luck!

Huge win, sure. But the Eagles D is still ranged 31st in the league, they're horrible. Without Culpepper's butterhands, and the Owens TD that wasn't, you would've lost easily.

No, it wasn't dominated by them in any stretch of the imagination. The Vikings lead in pretty much every single category. I blame Culpepper for fumbling, but he SHOULD have had a touchdown on that if he didn't suck at holding onto the ball. Secondly, the Owens catch wasn't a TD. There's 14 points right there, and the Eagles only won by 11. A win is a win, but the Eagles don't have much to brag about.

You can look at stats (which I often do), or you can look at how every Vikings drive fizzled when it counted. Stopping the Vikings from scoring a touchdown (:checks espn.com:) until the 4th quarter is nothing to sneeze at.

Keep judging a defense on yards alone, rook. First, they have been a bend but don't break defense for two years. Even with Bobby Taylor and Vincent, second, it's two games into the season. The giants fucking suck that we blew them out so bad they got junk yardage, the Vikings are one of the best offenses in the league.

About 150 yds vs. the Giants were because we were killing them so bad.

I love people who get so caught up in stats they think it means everything without looking into why the yards were given up and if the team wins while doing it anyway.

PS. Vinny Testeverde is leading the League in Passing Yards, that means according to TOK he is the best QB in the league.

I don't think anyone in the world agrees it was a catch other than an Eagles fan. Like you suggested me, watch a few sports shows this week -- everyone is basically saying it cost the Vikings the game, and everyone is calling for reviews to be allowed after extra points.

He has a 79 QB rating with 3 picks. He's got yardage because of the situation their team has been in -- Behind. Just as the reason we have given up so many yards is situation - junk yardage and a blitzing bend but don't break vs. one of the best offenses in the league.
