Some fucking moron in a S71 truck pulled out in front of me a few minutes ago. I swerved to his ass end so if we smacked no one would get hurt, I missed, hit gravel, spun into a 360, fish-tailed into traffic, came back to my side and went ass end into a ditch. Shit like this isn't supposed to happen when you're going the speed limit. If I was doing my normal speed I'd probably be dead.

This mother fucker takes off like a bat out of hell. I've got a dent in my shit, cut tire, gouged rim, and had he stayed I probably would have beat the ever living shit out of him.

Just drove the car home so I can set it up and check the underbody because I'm not driving to downtown Indy during rush hour if I've got anything wrong. While it's settling and I wait for it to leak anything I thought I'd share my fun filled morning. I'm still shaking I'm so mad.

Sorry man, no license plate I imagine, since you were spinning and all?

Nope, all I saw was a dark silver, S71 Silverado. Can't really call the cops sense I drove it home to get out of the way and let other people make it to work.

If you had an assault weapon...

...no I'm j/k. That sucks dude. :(

GOD I HATE THAT.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I had something similar done except my car wasn't damaged. All I know is I've been keeping an eye out at school for a new-style dark blue Beetle with an ASU sticker on the back. I'ma kick that stupid cunt, talking-on-the-phone-while-driving bitch.

Hopefully, karma will work out for us both. Sorry to hear about the damage on the car.

That's messed up. I am glad you are ok though. Wish there was a way to find the person who did it.

Seriously thought, why the fuck don't people have the balls (They just don't have the wallet) to admit and pay for their mistakes.

Two weeks ago i was hit by a drunk driver in downtown on a saturday night. I was bloody walking for crying out loud, had i not been wearing my leather jacket i would have been a hell of a lot worse off. Luckily an two officers observed the accident and chased down the potential hit and run bastard.

You saying you would have stayed and gotten your ass beat?

I would have taken off too.

All I know is he probably goes to work the same way everyday. So I'm getting up early and camping out at Brookschool and 238 just to see if Mr. Fuckass McRedneck shows up in his truck again.

What are you going to do when you DO find him?

It's better to just let some things go if you can not change the outcome.

What a buttfuck. You can probably still call the fuzz and file a report, although nothing will ever come of it. The camping idea is gangsta, stick with that.

I am glad you are okay, and yeah it could've been a lot worse. Mr. Fuckass McRedneck (I love that name lol) does need a good talking to, though. Please be careful if you do decide to confront him. Lotta crazies out there. If he is the type to be a coward, and leave the scene of a crime, then no telling what else he'll do.

Be safe.

I'm just glad you weren't injured. The roads are full of idiots. Hell, come to think of it, the world is full of idiots!

Follow him to his work and then call the cops.

That's what I will do. What I want to do is totally different but unfortunatly in the civilian world people have feelings and shit. That and they don't take responsibility for their own actions and they are sue happy so yeah I'll just call the cops.

Had my wife been in the car with me it would be a different story. One of his friends would be calling the cops as they looked out to the parking lot and saw him getting a mud hole stomped in his ass.

The only advice I have, that hasn't been offered up by anyone else, is to make sure you take your car in for an allignment very soon. Spinning around like that will throw things out of whack, and it can cause serious tire wear issues. Oh, and it is Z-71, vice S-71......

Some shit like that happened to me not too long ago. I was leaving for a concert the next day in Chicago, and was supposed to drive and was out with friends. This girl walks up, and is like, Uh, Do you drive a silver car? I say yes, go out and find the front end all fucked up. Some shithead backed into it in his trailblazer, did $5000 or so in damage and drove off. Luckily, a few people got his license plate and my insurance company made him pay for it all. Also, I got a GMC Envoy as a rental so the trip worked out well.

Happens to most people, eventually, at some point during their driving career. It sucks. You should -definitely- file a report with the police department though. That's the FIRST thing the insurance company's gonna ask for when you file your claim. No report - no coverage. Even if the police take no action - you can put it in as a no-fault at the very least, and pay a higher premium for a few years. It's a hell of a lot better than dishing out the full cost of repairs in most cases.

I -almost- had a hit and run, but like Mistomeer, a witness stopped me as I was pulling out of the parking lot space. Told me to stop the car on the other side of me from leaving and take a look at my side panel. I did - and did - and it turned out the chick in the car next to me made a wide turn into her space and dragged her front bumper the entire length of the side of my car.

She claimed she didn't know she'd done it, which was why she was still trying to leave. I'm like - I'm driving a Subaru station wagon and you're in a tin can - and you didn't FEEL your car resisting when you turned the wheel? Gimme a fucking break. Turns out, she was driving without insurance (which is illegal in Connecticut), and didn't want to get in trouble. I told her she should've been more careful about pulling out of a parking space if she didn't wanna get in trouble.

And then I called the police. She was driving her mom's car, and I didn't press charges. I just wanted them to pay for the damage, nothing more or less. The mom was very understanding about the whole thing, though a bit sheepish because she was responsible for letting her kid drive without being insured. I told her - I don't give a rat's ass about insurance, I'm not gonna go off the deep end about her choice not to add her daughter to the policy. I just want the repairs paid for.

Over $1000 later and my car was good as new, and her daughter learned a few lessons: 1) not everyone is gonna beat the shit out of you when you make a mistake. 2) driving + insurance = good thing. 3) be more careful when you're behind the wheel of a 2000 pound killing machine.

I'd say that was $1000 well-spent, on mom's part. It could've cost her a lot more if I had pressed criminal charges for an attempted hit and run. As it was I didn't mention that little detail to the officer who came to the scene, because the girl was SO shaken up and upset I didn't have the heart to slam her just because she did a stupid thing.

Just so you know, this thread made sure I could not read the PC at work today.

Bastard.

Glad you're okay. Sucks about the car. That would make me really, really mad.

Other than having the alignment checked, have your wheel studs, rotors, calipers, sway bars, and bushing checked as well.

While they're under the car, have them check the exhaust line from the manifold back to the exhaust tip. It just takes one crack in a weld, a loosened clamp, or a bent hanger to start an exhaust system on the fast downhill slope.

I would definitely camp out for the turd, after you have filed a report. It is unlikely that the police or insurance will go after the driver once you find the truck since you didn't get a look at the plate or driver.

I’m the vindictive type myself. A few months back some jackass parked next to me at the store (I intentionally park in no-man’s land) and put a huge fucking dent in my door. The fucker opened his door hard enough to trade paint.

I waited for his ass to come out so I could file a report and we could swap info. The only two cars in that vicinity and he claims it wasn’t him and I can’t prove it because no one saw it. Despite the graphite paint lining his driver’s side door and the diarrhea read in the center of this huge ass creasing dent in my door, he was right.

I just waited for him to turn his head and planted my foot in the middle of his door. Much larger dent. Large enough to pull the weather stripping away from his window. He didn’t “see” me do it after all.

Good fucking thing I can do my own body work, my provider would have raped me.

Tsa'ah you sound just like my dad and that's what I love about you.

My cousin owns a mech/body shop. I'm taking it to him today so it will get checked out and he generally charges me a case of beer which I help him drink
