Okay, so I have an almost 10 gnome ranger, and I want him to be either 2 handed or two weapon. I was considering 2x brawling/twc, but thats point intensive, and hes already at only 1x dodge/hide/ambush. I guess my question is, which style, 2h, twc-ohe/brawl, is most viable? Also, any potential training plans as well as good stat placement would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
~me

Alright, since no one has shown any interest in giving me training ideas, I'll post my own and you guys can critique it.

1x armor (till 30 most likely)
1x pf, till max blood
1x cm, dodge, ambush, spells, HP, perception, hiding
2x edge, twc

I'm a forest gnome, how do these stats look?

Strength (STR): 90
Constitution (CON): 40
Dexterity (DEX): 80 (for prime stat ptps)
Agility (AGI): 70
Discipline (DIS): 75
Aura (AUR): 80 (CoL)
Logic (LOG): 50
Intuition (INT): 80 (for prime stat mtps)
Wisdom (WIS): 75
Influence (INF): 20

I'd 1x or more PF for life, for the redux.

.75x dodge and CM, use those points to 2x hide and 1x PF for life

Why so much hiding, when you can use 608? Yes, my ranger's only 4. I'm new.

because 608 isn't reliable with the mana MOST rangers have, to cast every shot before one reaches around great lord or lady, the same reason i don't cast 604 everytime i kill something to skin it. But i can help you out with a two hander ambushing ranger plan when i get home if you are interested still, its honestly the most fun character i've ever played, and uber death to all in the way...but let me know if your still looking for assistance.

You make a simple motion, quietly invoking the Camouflage spell...
Your spell is ready.
You gesture.
[Spell Hindrance for some glaes brigandine armor is 6% with current Armor Use skill, d100= 2]
Your armor prevents the spell from working correctly.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

>hide
Roundtime: 3 sec.
You attempt to blend with the surroundings and feel confident that no one has noticed your doing so.

For a number of reasons, for instance, unless you stop at double leathers (not a great idea), then 608 isn't always effective. You can hide during cast RT, so if you botch 608 you can immediatly just hide, if it's a time that you don't want to be seen (can't hit what can't be seen) then you'll want that hiding skill. Unless you're a redux heavy sword and board type ranger I think 2x hiding is very important, it's especially important without a shield.
