I took on a pit bull from a charity I am 2nd in command of, for dogs, helping out them.

Last I checked, posting an opinion on the PC forum (even in a merchant thread) does not require that I be in the market to purchase or even currently playing. Any asshole with an opinion can post it anywhere on the PC - you're living proof of that.

Not everyone with money keeps track of every item in the game, and as many others have already stated, it's a bit ridiculous to post up a sell-out for $5k buyout but refuse to take the hour to list out the big ticket items. My comment reflected 0% on Paul's trustworthiness and 100% on the ridiculousness of refusing to make a list of $5k worth of items.

Sad to see you go. I have a bard (based in EN) and I'm willing to travel anywhere to sing to your stuff. I am on leave from work (minor foot surgery) so I am 100% flexible. (well, not my plantar tendon) Anyway, you pick a time, I'm there.

The way I see this moving forward where it's the most profitable for you and painless for those involved:

1. Sing and create an inventory including information on what items are attuned (if any)
2. Assist and check some of the attuned items to ensure they would all retain the same properties if the personal owner changed
3. Create a "minimum bid / buyout" structure for the auction

I would be willing to type up the document for you as well. My previous auctions here show I don't totally suck at very basic formatting. Again, now is a good time for me.

If I ever do leave GSIV, well my lockers are crammed full of stuff I haven't checked on in years, in some cases well over a decade. If you think I would want to spend the time to get a bard to sing to all upteen zillion items, you need to change whatever you are drinking.

Sure I would post about my favorite 10-20 items and answer specific questions. Beyond that, you would get what you would get. No one would be forcing you to bid, so I really don't see the problem.

Selling $8000 worth of stuff for $5000 is a seller getting screwed in the deal just as much as somebody paying $5000 for $3000 worth of stuff is.

The one who wants what somebody else has generally ends up getting the worst of a deal. That's just the nature of things, nothing personal against anybody.

Even if someone only wanted 1-2 items on his list as long as they had the time and the cash it would be well worth it to buy now instead of losing your chance or paying a higher price on the resell. I'd also suggest if anyone only wants something(s) but not to buy the whole thing they post their interest here so the potential buyer would have an idea of what you want and may at least consider selling instead of keeping it for themselves.

Most "serious" players of the high-end goods know what the other one has, and with a buyout of 5k, it keep the tire-kickers and insulting offers to a minimum.

A novel idea, if you have an interest and the investment to back it up, get in touch with him. I've known Paul to work with people on things as well, which is why the 5 grand is a buyout.

I'll be surprised if someone shells out that kind of money on a gamble of assumptions that certain items are in ones possession. Bottom line is what many people who know him already know - His stuff is very likely worth far more than 5k. He is looking for someone who is capable and willing to take it over quickly, but still get some of the value of this accounts. It's fun reading this thread. But I actually agree with the whole concept of asking for $5k without giving much to go on. There's no question of trust. It's a question of "What am I buying that worth that much?". In all honesty, it doesn't that much effort to go to at least one town's locker and do a locker manifest <town> and copy / past the contents here to at least give a better hint of what people are buying. But that's just my $.02
