"Astronomers Find First Evidence Of Other Universes
Our cosmos was “bruised” in collisions with other universes. Now astronomers have found the first evidence of these impacts in the cosmic microwave background"
Neat stuff.

First of all, SIR Roger Penrose.
Second of all, I highly doubt that "Stephen Feeney at University College London and a few pals" is the preferred form of scientific citation.
Third of all, SIR Roger Penrose knows more about physics than everyone on this board put together. With that said, I am pretty sure that what he's saying is not what the article is saying. Notice how in the publication (http://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1011/1011.3706.pdf) the diagram refers not to time but conformal time. Meaning what? Remember that the point of a singularity like a black hole or the very early universe is that space-time goes from [free space and tick tick time] to [tick tick space and free time]. The point of SIR Penrose's theory is to transform that coordinate system into something that is continuous across the transition, a math trick that dates back to at least Cauchy. His ability to do so isn't in question, he probably can't eat a bowl of Cheerios without transforming a few coordinate systems. The point is that the quantity that takes the place of time is not time. It is something else; as near as I can tell, it is the inverse of the space-time of the previous aeon. Infinity is 1 / zero, 1 / infinity is zero, so that makes sense.
If we think of it in terms of Doc Brown's chalkboard, where he draws universes as parallel arrows of time. On SIR Penrose's chalkboard the arrows are perpendicular, and instead of being next to each other each universe is contiguous with its neighbor on every point off to infinity. So if we call the universe that bumped into us Big Jerk Universe, the entire 15 billion / 6 thousand years of Universe Prime's existence has taken place in literally 0 seconds of BJU's time, so they can just put that in their pipe and smoke it. Universe Prime rules #1!!!

First of all, we don't have titles of nobility where I'm from. He is a Mr at the most.

Having a pre bang before the Big Bang is so embarrassing :(

I just really wanted to use the term "pre bang"
