As you sing, you feel a faint resonating vibration from the studded pewter ring in your hand...
The magical strength of this item is strong. It could probably handle the imbedding of an entirely new spell, if handled with care.
The ring resonates with your voice, indicating that it enhances its owner in the following ways:
It provides a bonus of 11 to Spell Aiming Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 66 times.
It provides a bonus of 4 to Discipline.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 10 times.
It provides a bonus of 8 to First Aid Bonus.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 24 times.
It provides a bonus of 2 to Wisdom.
This enhancement may not be used by adventurers who have not trained 5 times.
The ring looks to have a lot of charges remaining.
You sense that the studded pewter ring will crumble into dust after its last enhancive charge has been expended.
You sense that the studded pewter ring will persist after its last magical charge has been expended.

OK...it crumbles when its last enhancive charge is used. Does this mean that it's rechargeable before that? (I'm new to the whole enhancive thing)

Yeah it can be recharged infinitely, but if the enhancive charges run out it crumbles. Just keep an eye on your crumbly enhancives by loresinging to them and you should never lose one.

I usually just take my crumbly enhancives to the guild once per week and try to charge them. Usually, the treasure master tells me that they are fully charged. I even wrote a script to automate the process. If they can hold a charge, then the script orders it. If not, then the script moves to the next crumbly enhancive. The script takes about 5 seconds to run. I'm not sure if I'm wasting bounty points by doing that. If I had a crumbly enhancive as nice as this ring, I'd probably run the script several times per week, just in case, because the rate at which enhancives lose charges is not constant.
A service offered at the last couple of EGs was to make an enhancive permanent. This ring would be a good candidate for that service.
Also, the recharge cost for crumbly enhancives is 2/3 the cost for permanent enhancives.

My loot selling script runs the INV command. I have a loud irritating sound keyed to run if it shows any of my crumbly enhancives.

The wisdom and spell aim are great. The disc and first aid are rather useless and will drive up enhancive cost. That being said if I had the funds I'd buy this, amazing item to make perm and the MB is reasonable.
Expect Virilneus to buy it out.

When you recharge an item, you pay a 'per charge' cost right? So if it's almost topped off anyway, it's cheap to recharge - this is how I understand it. Is this correct?

Pretty sure it's flat rate... So 1% full and 50% full on the same item would trigger the same flat recharge cost.

No, the recharge cost is always the same for an item. But it appears to me that the treasure master always adds the same number of charges to a particular item (probably a percentage of its maximum number of charges), regardless of the number of charges already in the item. If I am correct about that, then there is no point in waiting until an item is low in charges before recharging it. If I'm wrong, then recharging early wastes bounty points.

This. For 350 simucoins. Or, buy 12 of them, last the whole year, for 4200 simucoins. That is, if you are willing to both give SIMU more money, and willing to deal with the crap website that is the simucoin store.

Or just buy them with silver from the few people that deal in them that way.

Neither had I, but the pin I permanented at EG '13 now costs 4800 instead of 3200 to recharge. <grumpycat />

Virilneus is long since at the 50 enhancive cap for spell aiming.
