Of course, if you're holding daggers at rest, the "size of bucket" increase probably isn't going to help you much (edit: forgot empaths healing and such.)

+40 LOG will get you +4 xp per pulse on a node. I have a dagger set like this and it's very handy (though mine are +37 together and I have a +3 wearable). My dark elf maxes out at 43 per pulse right after ultra-saturating from a bounty, for a pulse or two. The recharge costs are a pain, but worth it to me.

PROTIP Edit your loot selling or unenhancing script to take these out just before exiting.

I don't hold my current dagger set when I turn in because that would reduce the insta absorb when just fried right? You should just take them out afterwards? I think you only would lose experience if you were already saturated correct?

With the maximum being raised, there could be potential to reduce you out of Must Rest. But I haven't seen any documentation about when the calculation cycles occur. It may be recalculated at the time of the XP pulse. Regardless, you're right, I wouldn't recommend holding them until after the turn-in.

Holding these in your hands while you're resting is enough to negate the penalty for holding an item? Seems like the increased effect would be minimal, but I honestly don't know much about the subject.

I've always made sure my hands were empty whole resting.

I think that penalty only applies if you aren't on a node.

Then they must have changed something, because I was using similar items at the table in FWI and seeing positive results.

You misunderstand... Holding items in your hands when you're not in town applies an exp absorption penalty. That penalty doesn't exist in town.
