So what do you normally get for your birthday?

So far I got cash, new pillows, and socks.

Well Happy birthday to me....
18 today :D

here's the log:
You walk into the bar you frequent.
You smile at the Landlord.
The Landlord smiles at you.
The Landlord says "What can I get you Sara?"
You say "A bacardi Breezer please"
The Landlord walks over to the fridge and pulls out a bacardi breezer and puts it on the bar, taking your money in exchange.
You say "It's my birthday today"
The Landlord says "Happy birthday Sweetheart, how old are you?"
You say "18"
The Landlord stares off into space
You grin mischievously.
The Landlord says "...but you have been drinking in here for the past two years....."
You giggle to yourself.

Edited to add on topic point:

I got cash! Woohoo.

-^- Funny, Nieninque. I usually get gift cards to bestbuy or Circuit City. I'm an electronic gadgets' freak. I prefer it to cash.

The best birthday gift I ever got was from my mom. I have this necklace that I wear all the time; it's a memorial tear my friend gave me at my father's funeral. Well at Simucon 02, the chain broke, and I gave it to my mom for safekeeping, and promptly forgot about it. She got me a new chain for it and gave it to me. It meant more than any amount of money she would've spent.

Sentimental gifts are the best.

Yeah, I'm a sentimental fool, too. I save all my movie stubs and stuff. LOL. I've been known to do weirder shit, like save reciepts from dinners and whatknot.

Cash is best, gift cards a close second. ;) From family anyway, the bf usually gets me something he knows I want (and never remember telling him).

I told my ex ex ex ex that I wanted her in nothing but a ribbon for my birthday. I got it, and it was the quickest unwrap ever. I win!

I like when people make things for me. Its so much more personal. As a photographer, my boyfriend makes me handmade frames from different kinds of wood. And a few years ago, my dad, (the most uncreative, un-artsy, still love him though) wrote me a poem about me growing up. Yeah, I bawled my eyes out.

Material gifts though? Anything from Tiffany's is a good thing.
