What is this amulet?

The pendant will "faintly glow" on it's own, and then go lightless again on a regular basis, even while sitting in a locker (the description itself changes).

Bard song said that it was a magical implement for a mage or spell user.

Any thoughts?

Those glimaerstones react to ambient light on their own. Casting light or darkness spells just bypasses the natural reaction.

Yeah I had a tiara on my gnome that you could put any stone in and the glimaerstone ones did that.
