So I've been playing for 20 of my 30 days after a very long hiatus. I'd love to know if anyone could help out with my final stat migration. I was thinking of basically setting my stats for level 50 ( not sure I will ever get there ) and probably end up purchasing a fixstat if I do. I am 16 now, and will probably be ~18 by the time my 30 days is up. Here is what I was thinking:

Halfing

CO: 25
DE: 95
DI: 21
LO: 70
IT: 33
ST: 90
AG: 92
IF: 70
WI: 69
AU: 95

Yielding 4936 training points.

Sorry to say it, but these stats look really bad. So upside-down that it looks like you either might not have looked at the stat growth progression at all, or that you're totally confused about what some stats do.

Dexterity and agility will cap out WAY too soon, you probably don't need that much aura, influence would be THE stat to put as low as possible and it's 70, strength is high but the crippling strength bonus may make this SOMEWHAT reasonable (but it's probably still too high), constitution and discipline are frighteningly low.

You should mention how you're planning to hunt. I'm assuming bow, but people like to play different ways. Are you planning to open boxes or are you going to live only on the battlefield?

I was just taking a quick look at that stat cruncher program trying to get the most out of the stats I guess. Putting higher values in dex/agil to help with hunting, and then whatever to get the most TPs.

Hunting with a bow, don't really care about picking.

I'm going to assume you've been swinging a claidhmore like the board tends to encourage people to do. Make sure that before your 30 days are up, you fixskill into using a bow as a halfling and make sure it's something you're comfortable with. We've had incidents in the past of little people (halfling/gnome) fixskilling into the bow after their 30 days are up and abandoning the character due to roundtime/ammo issues.

I'm not much of a 'power player' so I've actually been using a bow the whole time.

Definitely agreed to this. I rolled up a gnome Archer and titled it in the first 30 days using a claidhmore. Switched to archery afterwards and abandoned the character... 9 sec aimed from hiding is not fun.... Just make sure you're comfortable with the longer rt on smaller races.

Halflings are rough to place stats for as a rogue. Will have three stats below 100 at cap for playable stats. Anyways, I came up with two alternatives, (I) with 98 in strength/100 in discipline, and (II) with 100 in strength/95 in discipline. I suggest the first. I'm not tanking influence because it can be used in the cman skill divert, which I've found very useful when uphunting. Both of these sets of stats are what I would consider "playable" to cap with. They are set for maximum growth with slight tweaks for ease of use.
(I)
Str 70
Con 62
Dex 55
Agi 37
Dis 77
Aur 82
Log 77
Int 43
Wis 88
Inf 69

(II)
Str 76
Con 57
Dex 57
Agl 37
Dis 70
Aur 82
Log 77
Int 43
Wis 88
Inf 68

Keep in mind with these stats you're going to be using a short bow for a long time just to keep roundtimes manageable. If you want to make these stats even more "playable" keep siphoning points from intuition and influence and in the case of (II) pump more points into strength, and in the case of (I) into Dex. If this is the path you want to go with, I would suggest II over I.

Thanks for putting some work into helping me! Would you mind letting me in on what is off about the last stats that I put up? The game has changed an awful lot since I played last.

Dex/Agi have little room to grow (they'll grow really fast since you're a rogue and halfling). Influence is useful for cman divert, Wis is necessary for spiritual TD (which will be low as a rogue).

Really appreciate the help. I hope that once I migrate my stats, I don't hate the character. I've been using a composite bow, so now I need to find a reliable short bow you think?

Depends on what rt you find acceptable to hunt with.

I was planning on sitting out in the open and just wearing heavy armor ... thoughts? Might be a better plan to wear something like doubles and sit in the shadows given the race has a bonus for that sort of thing?

There's nothing wrong with short bows until you start talking about plate (at that point, something is REALLY wrong with using a short bow):
http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?50124-Longbow-vs-Composite-vs-Short-bow-%28Crit-kills%29

You only need to worry about plate later on with bandits and against certain grimswarm. Not sure what kind of low-level monsters wear plate class if any.

If you're intentionally peaking stats early (which is just fine), you really need to put them into the Tsoran spreadsheet (or similar) and track them out to see when you cap things out. If you're going ranged the whole way, strength is really your main concern. Second priority for me would be to make sure your exp-related stats aren't crippling. Most other things are on equal ground from there (except influence, fuck influence... mostly). Dexterity will grow really fast (it can be below 50 and still hit 100 at cap for halfling rogues) and your bonus will be huge. You don't need to fret about it too badly.

Despite the fact that I play a light armored rogue, I still think full plate is superior. No reason to not wear plate in the shadows. I think the light armor option is mainly viable if you have good gear and you're high level. But in this area, it's more about what you find to be personally enjoyable.
