How crazy would it be if the Steelers made the playoffs? Coming into last week they needed to win out, they needed the Jets to win out, they needed Baltimore and Miami to lose out, and they needed SD to lose one of two. That's eight of nine games they needed to go their way (Miami plays the Jets this week) and they got half of them last week. Now they just need four to go their way, but if you think about it they're all realistic. SD may be a stretch if KC rests starters but I could absolutely see Baltimore and Miami losing this week.

I'm feeling lucky (and hopeful) and so... I have to change one pick... for the benefit of the Steelers playoff hopes:

That said...

Take San Diego out, and Kansas City in.

AGAIN... Kansas City over the Chargers....

How crazy is it that after the 1:00 games... the Steelers still have playoff hopes alive? (Great post DoctorUnne, I was going to mention it earlier in the week but saw you already did.)

KC is sitting everyone. All 11 starters in defense are out, as is smith and Charles. Good luck.

______________________________________________

And now, here's some fun stats, just because.

28 people picked games at least 1 week.
6 people picked all 256 games, Gibreficul, Shaft, Ardwen, Neimanz1, Parkbandit, and RSR. Kembal had 255 picks, Gsgeek and Stabbyrogue both had 254 picks total.
Throwing out anyone with under 200 picks, Anebriated had the best win %, 67.76%. DoctorUnne wasn't far behind at 66.03%. Bob was right behind that at 65.23%. Kembal had the worst win % at 55.10%. Parkbandit and RSR were the next worst at 59.18%.
Week 3 had the most games picked, 349.
Week 12 had the least games picked, 210.
Week 8 had the best collective win % at 79.84%. Week 17 was the next best at 79.17%.
Week 12 was the worst week collectively at 47.86%. Week 10 was the next worst at 48.44%.
Bob ended up winning 3 weeks, as did Willington. Anebriated, Stabbyrogue, and Neimanz1 all won 2 weeks. Talkris3, Ardwen, Parkbandit, RSR, and Gsgeek all won a single week.

Thanks everyone for participating, especially the "top 16" who basically stuck it out all season. I'm sure that like me, you all consider this something extra to keep the season interesting, meaningless as it is in the grand scheme of things. Thanks also for keeping it mostly easy for me to score every week by using city names as they were listed in the original post each week.

I look forward to doing this next year, and I hope you all do too. Maybe we'll get a little better participation throughout the entire season.

If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet I used for this season's scoring, send me a private message with your e-mail address and I'll gladly send it to you. (I attempted to attach the file to this post, but the PC decided it was an invalid file type.) Until next season....

At least I beat bob. And neimanz. I hate losing to neimanz.

In an earlier week there was a discussion about this. Fact is there's no real prize, just bragging rights. I determined that the best way to sort the overall rankings was by total wins, win %, and overall games picked. In hindsight, total wins and overall games picked should've been the top 2 sort criteria. There's something to be said for a complete season. (LOL, j/k Shaft, I'm just a little bitter I swapped that SD/KC game last minute.)

It's the number of weeks you win that matters!!

Right, because I didn't win a single week, but was tied for first with the most total wins. RSR won a week but was tied for "second worst" in overall win% for those with 200+ games picked. Your logic indicates that you believe he beat me.

To gsgeek and gib, you guys want to keep this running through the playoffs? Us 3 for the title?

Not really, but I'll take it under consideration.

This is not a fun fact.

At all.

I tried to keep it fair in mentioning both the top and bottom in each category. 59% isn't terrible considering how unpredictable a lot of the season really was.

I missed a week and I'm 4 wins behind you. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Ya Bob, you picked really well. It would have been totally embarrassing if someone who missed a full week ended up with more wins than I had.
