I was looking to see if you archers out there would mind posting your builds from various character classes. I'd like to get an idea of what you guys do to make it work. It's just a personal thing but I have so much ranged gear that I've considered going with some odd builds to see if they work.
Thanks!

Wizard:
Refer to my wizard guide, but relevant archery skills are:
1x Ranged, 2x Perception, 2x spells, 24 air lore
Not sure where you're going with this, as weapon style builds are more customized around the class than the weapon type.

Not too sure where I'm going either right now. I've been gone for awhile and just getting back into things the last few weeks. I'm considering doing some "not so common" things to try and add some spice to my gaming experience. It's just something to play with right now. Call it an experiment if you will. Basically I'm just curious about my options right now for odd ranged builds
And thanks people for the rapid input. I didn't really expect this many posts this quickly

Why Robes?

Hunting in robes is fun, I don't hunt the rogue a lot but when I do I wanted something that took my attention. If I powerhunted him week after week..I imagine I'd get lazy and just go full plate. Rogues can pretty much pull off anything tbh

I mean what benefit is there? Lower RT? Better Evade?

There was a huge argument over the higher DS and evade for capped rogues wearing robes. Search for the Tsin robes thread.

I have 570 unused physical points. I just haven't decided where to put them for now. So I will probably just wait till closer to the fixskill time and see how many more I have then place them.

Why not up your CM points some more?

I don't really know what I would use them for. Most of the CMs available are mediocre for ranged users.

Mediocre...now that qualifies for understatement of the year, in my book

If you're looking to try something new and interesting, I'd suggest supplementing your ranged with UAC ambushing. Punches from hiding are quick attacks that can hit just about anything, do some crazy crit damage, can target body locations that have already been destroyed with rank 3 wounds, and you don't even need to put away your bow to use them.

Stupid me dropped brawling when I left Voln for GoS. Been thinkin about getting it back though. It does seem a fun way to hunt

You leap from hiding to strike!
You make a precise attempt to punch a huge incarnadine vathor!
Your attack is hindered by holding a barbaric skull-set ruic longbow!
You have excellent positioning against a huge incarnadine vathor.
UAF: 666 vs UDF: 680 = 0.979 * MM: 91 + d100: 65 = 154
... and hit for 43 points of damage!
Palm strike to face drives nose straight into brain!
The fire surrounding a huge incarnadine vathor flares up wildly, then is snuffed out instantly.
The very powerful look leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
The white light leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
The deep blue glow leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
The powerful look leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
The light blue glow leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
The brilliant luminescence fades from around a huge incarnadine vathor.
The bright luminescence fades from around a huge incarnadine vathor.
The silvery luminescence fades from around a huge incarnadine vathor.
A huge incarnadine vathor glances around, looking a bit less confident.
The tingling sensation and sense of security leaves a huge incarnadine vathor.
A shadow seems to detach itself from a huge incarnadine vathor, swiftly dissipating into the air.
** Necrotic energy from your russet leather gloves overflows into you! **

Nice... feature...

It is a feature, confirmed by Finros. It doesn't work on limbs, but torso and head can continue to be targeted ad nauseum.

Is this somehow different from other ambushing systems then? My memory says 'no'.

This is unique to UAC. No other combat system will allow you to target a destroyed body location.

Droit is correct, once you rank 3 a body part with any combat style other than uac it will default to hitting the chest.
