Shield or Brawl?

If you have an option to train in either 1x Shield or 1x Brawl, which one would you choose? Reasons?

This is sort of like apples and oranges. One is a form of combat, the other is defence. I wouldn't train any weapon 1x anyway, and using a shield if you're a two-hander is pointless anyway. Can you be more specific?

Well I have extra points to spare for 1x in a skill.

Either shield (2/0) or Brawling (2/1).

I am a volner. However, with only 1x in brawling, I do not think it will be that effective.

I am a two handed warrior with range weapons also. So, I'm not sure if a shield will ever be used.

The dilemma.

1x brawling with voln fu is usable for sure

I don't know much about Voln Fu. So taking that out of the equation, I'd go with Shield. It's cheaper and worth more for Redux. However, I'd go with an auxiliary skill over both, because I doubt it's a huge impact on redux.

My warrior is 53 and fully 2x in brawl and 2h. I'd say brawl.

It just is.

2 Weapons Combat, Armor Use, Shield Use, CM, Multi-Opps, and Ambush are all worth more for redux than weapon ranks. Physical is worth the most.

I picked brawl. Voln Fu right now is amazing. I can uphunt, unspelled, 10 trains over me with it. It's also extremely effective against those who don't train it. My 52 train warrior killed a 94 train empath with it using only punch. So if you plan on FUing, brawl brawl brawl.
