So what did people think of this?
I really enjoyed seeing the interaction between Smith and Tennant, but I would have really liked to have seen more of what was going on in the Time War itself. There have been numerous times where different "horrors" of the war were brought up my Tennant but never with any real information. Also they didn't touch on the Time Lock either and I found that disappointing. But overall I really liked it and it just reminds me about how disappointed I'll be when Matt Smith regenerates. And yes, I understand and agree that Peter Capaldi is a great actor, but I can't see him continuing the same goofy, lightheartedness we saw with Smith.
