So, yeah. Been gone a while, used to have a voln-fu halfling rogue that was maxed out on lockpicking, loved him. Wondering if I can do the same but swapping unarmed combat for the voln stuff.

Not sure where to start, this possible? any advice on what to train and how often? I'm a bit out of touch with how things work these days. Would like to max out lockpicking skills.

help.

THANKS!

The old Voln-Fu MB system is gone. It is replaced by the current unarmed system.

On the brightside, the new system is highly effective when combined with ambushing.

Quite possible, the biggest difference is that you'll probably want to use UAC from hiding . This means as part of your training you'll want 1x ambush and 2x hiding. You are likely using a shield and you can probably continue to do so, if you are you are going to want to look into shield maneuvers, most notably shield brawler, and shield swiftness, both of which require shield focus at rank 3. Typing shield in game will show you the various options, the system works much the same way combat maneuvers work. You could also forgo shield use, pick up 1 rank of TWC( maybe more if you are a low level) and put any remaining points into dodge.

There have been rumors that 1 rank of TWC no longer grants the static offhand parry bonus, and that you're required to be at .5x to obtain offhand parry... in an off-the-books change by GMs.

Of course, not something I can really test easily.... But you could!

FYI as a halfling you won't be able to punch some stuff in the head.

For 1 rank of TWC you get 5 DS + some for stats, at .5 TWC you unlock an additional +10 DS. For a rogue starting out being .5 in TWC is the cheaper way to gain DS over training beyond 2x in dodge, at some point though training in 3x dodge provides more benefit and they are better off with just a single rank of TWC, hard to beat 2/2 for 7 DSish, and triple dodge.
