Going under the knife

Has anyone recently had their tonsils out?

I get mine out next week and a bit nervous..

Everyone keeps telling me it will hurt a bunch more since I am over 30.

The good news is I get a Dr. note for 7-10 days off from work.

Anyway who has had em out?

I had a friend in her 30s who had this done recently. She said it wasn't nearly as awful as people had made her believe it would be. :)

Unfortunately for me, I grew up in an area that had old school doctors. I had tonsillitis a total of 9 times from jr high to HS and they each laughed at the suggestion of removing the damned things.

I still have mine and I loathe the next case of tonsillitis.

This one time when we were tearing down an old corn crib, I stepped on a board with a protruding rusty nail. It went in the bottom of my shoe and came out of the top.

I demanded ice cream from the time we left the ER until the time we got home. My Dad handed me a shovel and told me to suck it up.

I even told him I did it for his sins .... still nothing.

Heh, my doc has been suggesting I get mine removed for like six years. I had the same problem Tsa`ah, tonsilitis very often. Thankfully I haven't had a case of it in like three years.

I was going to get them removed but we opted to wait for either A) the laser procedure which is a lot less painful and messy, or B) hopefully out grow the situation.

I guess I'll get them shrunk via laserf as technology improves and it becomes a relatively easy procedure.
