In LA a white father and daughter put up a halloween decoration of a lifelike dummy that has a bag over it's head, hands bound, and hanged in their front yard. They've had complaints and the police have asked them to take it down but they refused.

What would you think if you saw a life-like figure dangling by its neck from a tree in your neighborhood?Natalie Diaz and her father said that when they made the hanging dummy out of PVC pipe, they thought it would be a scary Halloween decoration for their Riverside home. The figure writhes and wheezes.
But their decoration has drawn a lot more attention than they thought it would, and for all the wrong reasons.
“I understand it’s a Halloween decoration to that family, but in other people’s eyes, they don’t see that,” said Mary Bailey, a neighbor. “They see a form of racism.”
Bailey, whose children are biracial, said the image of a man hanging from a tree digs up gruesome images from America’s past racism-fueled violence against black men and women.
“It hits home because my family is a part of that history,” she told NBC4.
Others in the community said they understand Bailey’s point of view, but don’t think the decoration is racist.
Chris Atencio, a neighbor who is part black, described it as “fun” and “creative.”
The homeowners with the decoration say they have no plans to take it down before Halloween.

So, what do you think? Racist? Harmless? Whats up?

No it's not racist but I wouldn't put it up in my yard.

I think America has gotten pretty stupid. More or less in all things.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. Unless maybe the hanging 'corpse' had black hands, feet, and possessed a horrendous jheri curl stench.

Anyone that thinks this is racist is racist for assuming that it's supposed to be a black guy being lynched.

Just like how people are called racist for complaining about food stamps or something by assuming they're only talking about minorities, as if white people aren't on food stamps too.

I don't know about you guys, but I thought the pic in OP was supposed to be Saddam Hussein in jeans and a flannel.

I'm sure if it had a sign on it that said WHITE GUY, it not only wouldn't be called racist, but would be openly celebrated.

Would be dressing up as an AIDS infected cock be considered racist against heterosexually challenged males?

Only if it's a black AIDS infected cock.

It isn't racist unless they show actual intent. Like maybe a sign. Hanged men are fairly common Halloween decorations, maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt that they're not using it as an excuse to express their desire to lynch black people.

And honestly, "bring up bad memories of being lynched in our kids"? This applies to all kids of all races these days, but I don't think they think much of anything past the screen of their iphones. DARNED KIDS.
