I have this massive toothache for some reason, and it hurts..:( It started hurting yesterday afternoon out of nowhere, and now it's really painful. I took some asprin, but it's not helping much. My dentist isn't in today either..:wails:

Oww..Just had to complain.

string and doorknob comes to mind..

no seriously, i know your pain, i had a wisdom tooth that cracked because of the preasure it was under because it was growing in slanted, it started on a friday and was a dull pain that a couple of motrin could knock out easily, by sunday morning i had gone through two bottles of ambesol and motrin was going down like tic tacs and not doing a damn thing, needless to say i left work (and in the Military Police thats pretty fucking hard to do when you are on shift) went to Bathesda Naval Medical Center and 4 hours after getting there the Dentist told me they couldn't do anything for me because i was not on their records, after i explained that the dental clenic at my post doesn't have emergency facilities she said that she would give me a few shots that will dull the pain for about 6 hours, and a prescription for percoset. i gladly accepted, and the next day i went to my clinic which was finally open and was almost in tears from the pain because i didn't want to take another percoset before i went there because it might interfere with the anisthesia and my dentist saw me and jerked my mouth open in the reception area and took me back and yanked that fucker out. was like instant relief.

Hope you get to feeling better.

Your dentist took off for Labor Day, well that downright sucks. Isn't there any way you can schedule to see another tooth person at the clinic you go to?

call the E.R and get a rx for amoxicillan 500mg. no matter that the intructions say take for right away then one every 6hrs. The first 4 is a loadign dose.(will boost your blood lvl up) Pain med probaly won't do more than take the edge off of it at this point. Your just gonna have to wait for the antibotic to take effect and reduce the pressure thats built up due to the infection.

I called my dentist, and he said that he would see me in the morning, told me to get antibiotics and salt water rinse. I have orajel and ibuprofen until then.

He told me if it got worse, to call.

All I can say is owww.

I think it might be my wisdom teeth.

Clove oil is good

Stinks really bad, but works a treat

Amoxicillin doesn't do anything. I took massive doses daily for a sinus infection and it didn't help.

lol pain control for extraction is 2 aspirin every 4 hrs and pain med as needed. Meaning take 2 aspirin every 4hrs no matter what(this raises your natural pain threshold.) Then if you have pain continue with the aspirin but go ahead and take a pain pill(I recommend a half if one to start) this cuts down on the amount of narcotic ingested, Discontinue aspirin if you start to get ringing in your ears(sign of aspirin overdose)

and yeah oil of clove works real well, it's still used in things like dry socket paste and hemroid cream(sp) to name a couple

Orajel and 1000mg of ibuprofen along with a hot water bottle seems to be doing the trick.

I just fell asleep, heh.

It's not feeling like the whole left side of my face is throbbing right now, so that's a plus.

I can't wait to get to the dentist tomorrow so they can take care of it..:whimpers:

:wtf: The dentist says he can't take the tooth out until tomorrow at 10:30..I'm dying..:whines:

The only good thing is that I have no work today or tomorrow, and I go on vacation Friday.

:sigh:

Go to the ER and demand percocet. It's the answer to all life's problems.

Out of utmost morbid curiousity. Do you have the "ingrown wisdom teeth?"

That's what I have, I think it's genetic.

Anyway, I could go and be anesthysized to get them ripped out, or I could just let them sit and be, like I have been doing, and nothing painful has come of it yet.
