Hello,
I have been trying to use the tpick script for my just barely guilded rogue. I do not yet have the ability to measure locks, so using ;tpick setup, tried to set the script to not use calipers. Unfortunatly, no matter what I do my rogue always tries to take out his calipers (which he does not have). This causes the script to hang and exit. Any help? This happens with all uses of tpick... ground, picking for others, picking my own etc.

Sal

Type ;tpick to pick your own boxes.
Type ;tpick <anything (except v, ground, setup)> to pick other people's boxes.
Type ;tpick <v> to skip measuring locks and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403 to pick all boxes.
Type ;tpick <v anything> to pick other people's boxes and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403.
Type ;tpick <ground> to pick all boxes on the ground.
Type ;tpick <ground loot> to pick all boxes on the ground and take the loot out of each box.
Type ;tpick <ground v> or ;tpick <ground loot> v> to skip measuring and always use a vaalin lockpick + 403.

So the v command would skip measuring and would use a vaalin lockpick. This actually uses whichever lockpick you set the vaalin lockpick variable in setup, so if you wanted to use a golvern lockpick all the time instead just put whatever your golvern lockpick is in the vaalin spot.

This is with ;tpick ground v and no wedges on me.

If you want to never calibrate this should be set to 999.

Can you have tpick stop 403 after using it to get a box? Also can you have tpick use the appropriate lockpick when casting lore instead of using vaalin 100% when loring?

I think there is an option for ;tpick to stop 403 after opening a box. Also ;tpick should use the appropriate lockpick when using 403 unless it thinks you need to use a vaalin lockpick.

i honestly dont know the difference, will break out the bracer later and get back to you about outcome.

ran into this issue with a sphere trap, successful disarm, but triggered a failed disarm response in the script.

[tpick: Attempting to disarm trap.]
[tpick]>disarm #303789984
Having discovered a trap on the trunk you begin to carefully attempt to disarm it...

You feel like you've made an excellent attempt.

With utmost care, you slip your vaalin sliver into the lock and gently nudge the tiny gem until it begins to work loose and its inner glow begins to fade. Another moment of prodding, and you are able to poke the gem free of its metal housing, whereupon it falls down into the lock mechanism and out of sight.

This bug had to do with your lockpick being a sliver instead of a lockpick. Uploaded a fix.

brought out the old tier 2 gnomish bracer...couple of things:

1) in order for the script to rub the bracer to search for traps the occasions of (gnomish_bracers) && (bracers_tier == 2) need to be changed to (gnomish_bracers) && (bracers_tier == "2")
2) after a trap is detected with the bracer the script tries to disarm it, perhaps it should detect it first to get a read/type of trap then move to disarm phase
3) after a successful disarm or a no trap read on the bracer the script will spin the bracer once...then hang:

also, in the gnomish bracer field of the setup it says to enter the bracer type followed by the tier with a space (type, tier). this does not work in my testing, you need to eliminate the space between the type and the tier. (type, tier)

is there a way to edit the script to remove the picking function of the gnomish bracer and only use it for the trap detection piece? would still be valuable to never miss a trap again.

If you mean you're getting this:

It simply means it's waiting up to 5 seconds to see if you have a disk that hasn't caught up to you yet, but it should keep going after 5 seconds.

Only other thing is i cant get it to cast 403 or 404 when i need. Using this program is damn scary to me really. Things can blow up and im not in charge. It runs really fast. Also when there is a trap, it says like Trap Difficulty is 199. Your disarm skill is 0, which is not totally correct. I have 243 ranks in it. Same as picking.

Yeah it’s fully automated but as long as your skills are correct (2x+ perception, 2x+ disarm traps, etc) it should be safe.

For 403 and 404 you just need to put yes for those spells on the setup menu. Be sure you do ;tpick setup and read all of the instructions at the bottom of each tab, and be sure to click each tab and fill out the settings.

If you have any questions about how you should set a particular setting feel free to ask.

This is where i am now...

Peering closely into the lock, you spy a tiny vial placed just past the tumblers of the lock mechanism. It would appear that any tampering with the lock mechanism would cause the tumblers to crush the vial and release whatever substance is inside.

It looks like a somewhat difficult trap (-119).

You still have a good enough picture of the trap in your mind, that you could try to disarm it.

It still thinks my disarm skill is 0 so if its a trapped box, it sends it back as too hard.

I have my max lock set to 10000, which in setup means it does al locks.

You still have a good enough picture of the trap in your mind, that you could try to disarm it.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

[tpick: Highest trap you are willing to try is: 10]
[tpick: Found a acid vial trap.]
[tpick: Trap difficulty is too high according to your settings. Can't open box.]
sR>

It still thinks my disarm skill is 0 so if its a trapped box, it sends it back as too hard.

I have my max lock set to 10000, which in setup means it does al locks.
I had trap roll set at 1000 but that didnt do anything so i changed it to 10
And for some reason, it will only use vaalin picks no matter what.

Be sure ;infomon is running by doing ;listall.

If ;infomon is running be sure to do SKILLS and SKILLS FULL to make sure your skills in ;infomon are up to date.

As far as using a vaalin lockpick, you said earlier that you only have 4 ranks in Lock Mastery, ;tpick relies on you either being a bard or being far enough in Lock Mastery that you can use calipers, otherwise the script has no way of knowing how difficult a lock is so it will always use a vaalin lockpick. You can also setup the script to start with a copper lockpick (or whatever lockpick you put in your copper lockpick setting) then move up to a vaalin lockpick if the current lockpick can't pick the lock.

Did that with the infomon. Even downloaded it again and ran it.

Ran tpick again...

Looking closely into the keyhole, you notice a pair of small metal rods a hair's width from touching each other. Peering around the inside of the keyhole, you can see that the lock would push the two rods together should the lock be tampered with.

It looks like an incredibly hard trap (about -395).

Yeah that's really weird, not sure why ;infomon isn't updating your disarm skill.

Try doing this in the game:

;eq echo "#{Skills.to_bonus(Skills.disarmingtraps)}"

It should echo back a number, something like [exec1: 0] or [exec1: 343]

If it says 0 then something is going on with ;infomon, if it says 343 then something is going on with ;tpick.

Weird. You might have an older version of Lich installed. Any idea which version you are using?

I installed it 2-21-21 when i came back to the game. Looks like the exe file says lich-4.6.52.exe and that has a modified date of 11-12-19. Let me see if i can find a newer version

This actually worked and did disarm a trapped box so that was good. (thanks)! It couldnt find a few of my picks but i think i can work with that. It could not find my caliper 3 times so it exited. In the tpick setup, i have Calibrate on Startup set to no, so it would skip calibrating and then Calibrate Count is set to 999, which setup says to set to 999 to never calibrate.

Im really not sure this is for someone with little to no LM. I have never measured a lock. In the old days people would tell me (until i got good enough to never ask) where the box was from and i knew based on experience what pick to use. Course i almost always used the best pick available because i hated to miss and make the customer wait longer than needed.

Since i have been back, the worker in the tower tells you what critter and level the box is from so after several hundred boxes, you know what picks work on what box so when i see a level 50 box, i take out the right pick. Same for a level 20 or a level 106. I am my own caliper, as it were. The way i see tpick working, is since i have no LM and no calipers, it will always use my best pick and thereby negating any exp advantage. Ill get 10 exp on a level 20 lock using a vaalin pick or ill get 90 exp on a level 80 lock with the same pick. Unless i select picks manually, i dont see tpick working for me. Course, i could be mistaken since i really havent seen it work 100% yet.

You pretty much have the gist of it. ;tpick relies on you having enough LM ranks to use calipers, otherwise you start the script as ;tpick v to always use a vaalin lockpick as a rogue.

I created ;tpick years before the worker was even a thing so knowing the level of the critter the box came from wasn't an option unless the customer or the rogue using ;tpick knew that information.

I suppose I could make it so ;tpick can use the level information from the worker to decide which lockpick to use.

That might be interesting, but these days how many people besides me might use it? :)

Not sure. I'm sure there are some non-rogues and non-bards out there that use ;tpick :p

Went ahead and made these changes. More information can be found here: http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?128853-Official-tpick-changes-and-discussion&p=2203268#post2203268
