Last night, I had a dream I was back in the Marines and I got busted down to Lance Corporal by a dude that was the same rank as me but somehow had that power. Anyways, then we got in a bus and drove to Afghanistan and there was a Marching Band walking around. I was the only Marine there now, but the Army National Guard was there having a picnic. Later we all got back on a bus and drove home. After that we went to a wedding or something, with a bunch of big titty women who were flashing us. One of them was my cousin's girlfriend, but he didn't care. After that I woke up.

I have had some seriously weird dreams, including a couple with vividly realistic traumatic injuries that would normally result in death, but unlike most dreamers, I don't wake up when receiving them. Examples: falling off a cliff Wile E Coyote style, and landing hard enough to make a dent after a 1000 foot drop, or being shot in the face, and feeling the warmth of blood and brain matter flowing down my neck, and smelling gunpowder and tasting blood. I theorize that I can have these dreams without waking up because I've experienced post-trauma preternatural calm. Either that or I'm a zombie. I wrote a paper about preternatural calm it in college, before I knew what it was called. Reading A Perfect Storm was something of a revelation for me in that regard, because Sebastian Junger explains preternatural calm in the book, (left out of the movie of course).

Haha, I remember in Boot Camp we had a guy that used to be an E5 in the Air Force but was now an E2. We all thought he was stupid for leaving the Air Force and starting over.

I randomly turned on Coast to Coast and the guy that wrote this was on it that night, talking about sleep paralysis (shit I've gotten since I was a kid where basically your mind is awake but your body is asleep and you're literally paralyzed and can't do shit, eventually figured out how to snap out of it but yeah) and astral projection and lucid dreaming and all that.

Started trying some of the shit in the book when that sleep paralysis thing would hit me and have had some indescribably crazy stuff happen that I was in control of, be it lucid dreaming or whatever. Also learned how to trigger sleep paralysis on demand almost.

The book was only like $10 on Amazon.

I have lucid dreams fairly often, and the start of them are generally based on whatever is on TV, until I sorta change stuff around a little. I passed out once with Jurassic Park on and was chased by dinosaurs, once with infomercials and I was selling Ginsu Knives. I tried with Porno on, but it has yet to be successful. But yeah, I've had a few where I thought the dream was stupid and I could basically make myself wake up by concentrating on it in the dream.

Rather than use it in an engine, however, it was put to use in the Great Patriotic War for keeping troops warm during the winter. For this I was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union. I've had a couple of dreams that stuck with me because they were crazy as shit.

I had one when I was younger around 6 or 7 and I dreamed my brother was dying on the lower bunk bed and I jumped off the top and took the covers off of him and he had metal sutures on his chest as if he had an autopsy done, and when I touched them they started to open and it was cotton inside (kinda like a teddy bear). I woke up all panicky and ran out of my room told my mom, and then went back to check his chest and he was obviously fine.


I also had a lucid dream where I was being chased by a monster and I knew it was a dream so I calmed myself down and let the monster kill me and then it was all black.

If I don't run 20 miles a week my blood pressure spikes and my dreams get a little weird. They will usually be just completely influenced by my day before but with stupid large imaginative notions to represent my feelings or thoughts or whatever. The WORST one is where I'm running around my high school naked and I can't remember my locker combo and/or where my class is. I had a dream that I lived in a huge haunted mansion with my mother and we were witches. We found these two other witches, one of whom had limited witch-like abilities and seemed sort of a second class citizen because all she could do was shapeshift into a house cat, injured and near death. My mother saved them by having the one turn into a cat and the other into a snake-like creature and joining them into one beast with two spines separating from one pelvis. She didn't do this out of kindness but a secret desire to harvest their souls to power a magic wand.

The cat witch hated my mother and said that even though she was in that situation (joined to a snake thing and at my mother's mercy) she found room in her heart to be glad she wasn't a hateful old bitch like my mother. I'm pretty sure this is when my mother determined that she'd get her soul reaped first.

After a while, the two witches started to heal so we separated them again. I found out my mother's evil designs on their souls and met with the cat witch in the forest behind our mansion. I whispered my fears for her soul and she asked me why I was whispering, because no one could hear me out there. I told her that no, it was definitely possible for her to hear us.

I snuck back into the house to find my mother still sleeping (in a huge bed in the middle of the giant Clue-like hall, for some reason) with the other witch coiled around her protectively in snake form. Like a massive pearly white snake. I guess she didn't care that my mother was going to harvest her to fuel a magic wand. Or something. The cat witch attacked the snake and I went after my mother. We were all rolling around in a pile of shapeshifting witches and magic blasts and then... I woke up.

The damage to the car was horrible but I threw some paint on it and spent the rest of the dream scared I'd be found out. It was one of those vivid dreams where you wake up and wonder if it really happened.

I had a dream that I was a black man in the distant past, a slave in the Louisiana bayou. Myself and my friend, a fellow slave, were escorting our owner through the swamp in a little row boat for some reason. My friend fell overboard and our mistress wouldn't let me row back to him, even though there were gators all over the area and he'd most likely die.

We continued on to a little island in the middle of the swamp, where I'd prepared (with magic) a sort of... plexiglas-looking coffin that would keep her sealed for all eternity, unable to die or escape in any way. I got her to the island and managed to seal her inside my trap. My fellow slave swam up to the island and we congratulated each other on our success in the plan. Little did we know that somehow nutria (really, brain.. NUTRIA?) had fucked up our magic and left a tiny tube-like hole she could eventually escape through.

Fast forward to the early 1970's in NYC and me and my friend are free men, with the same youthful appearance we'd had before for some reason, only in terrible 70's clothes. We had a friend, a little skinny gay guy, who kept following us around and acting kind of like he knew us or had seen us before somewhere or something like that. One day, he got his ass kicked for being gay and a black man on top of that. We didn't know if he'd live. While he was raving in fever from some infection, he whispered that we'd killed him.

That's when my friend and I realized that he was the reincarnation of our old owner. We weren't sure what to do about it because he was our friend now but what if her old ways woke up and she became an evil witch again?

I had this odd one this morning. Sitting in a doctors office with a doctor and she comes over and pokes me rather sharply in the sides and asks if that hurts. I tell her yes and she frowns slightly. Then she takes her nails and rakes them down my arm and asks again if it hurts. I reply the same way again and she frowns even more. Once more she rakes my arm with her nails and inquires if it hurts. At this point I'm confused and agitated and I say, yes, it hurts, and now it's time to stop. Her frown fades and she looks like she's mad now and she grabs my head with both of her hands and pulls it towards her and says, false, it's time for breakfast! Then she starts to lick my forehead furiously. That's when I woke up to find my siamese cat licking me because she wanted to eat.

I only recall seeing words appear in a dream once in my entire life, somewhat recently too. I was at a childhood house that I used to live in, across from a nice looking lake. In the backyard was a pretty big oak tree. In the dream i'm up on a ladder that's propped up against the house and I'm painting when I heard a weird noise. I look down and I see the bark on the oak tree just sliding down towards the ground, as if it's being degloved. On the bare skin of the tree are bands of red runic letters that are glowing. Figured I would take a closer look so I start to climb down when the sky rumbles and suddenly these dark, ominous clouds rapidly appear and start filling up the sky. Then a large passenger airliner comes hurtling down out from above the clouds and it's flying lower and lower and when it reaches the far end of the lake it crashes and fills the sky with a huge mushroom cloud.

Ugh. I'm no stranger to weird dreams and I've had my share of nightmares but this one takes the cake. The dream started out fine and then progressively got worse, until I realized I was dreaming and woke up.. in the same exact dream and it started all over. And on and on and on. Finally I started getting pissed for not being able to really wake up, as I've never had that problem before. I started to think maybe I had somehow slipped into a coma or I had died. Ugh

While I was interacting with the people and environment I thought it would make for a great story so I started writing down people's names and details about them. I also has a computer tablet and I was browsing their version of Wikipedia to get more information about their world.

It was so weird. I had a hardcore match in McDonalds over some fries and nuggets.

I used to have pretty weird dreams. Once as a kid I dreamed that I leveled my bard from 11 to 12. Just straight up hours long boring grind. When I woke up and found out that I hadn't actually gotten any experience I was pissed. I did that same grind that night for real. I time my sleep cycles now for other reasons, and I make sure I never wake up in stage 1 or 4, so I generally don't remember my dreams anymore. It's usually best not to have them. Whether they're good or bad dreams, it never does any good to dwell on them.

No. Just snakes. I wasn't worried about them either. I'd just walk up to them and grab them so that they couldn't bite me and chuck them down the storm drain. I was doing this for what felt like hours and hours, like it was a job. Do you know how much it sucks to work in a dream? You don't even get fucking paid.
