View Full Version : What does your favourite weapon look like?

I have a collection of bows so would struggle to pick one. Here are my favourites of all of them:
A Tribal Snipers Bow:
The first things you notice about the bow are the skillfully engraved tribal runes that swirl about in a harmonious pattern like no other. Rings of age envelop the bow's length, rubbed with oils and resins to protect it from the harsh elements and other worldly threats. The limbs of the bow are about four feet in length, granting an effective draw while remaining light and maneuverable. Tightly wound vruul skins serve as the bow's grip, reinforcing its strength and durability. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
6x Composite.
A Sylvan Hunters Bow:
This Sylvan hunter's bow has been crafted skillfully and seems fitted to a smaller hand. The wood itself is slender yet strong and inlaid along both arms with twining gold-filigreed sylvan runes. Soft doeskin is wrapped tightly around the center of the bow to provide a comfortable and secure grip and then held tightly in place by small vaalin plates etched with a snowy owl. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
5x Longbow
A Sylvan Crafted Aspen Crossbow:
Cut from the finest aspen wood, this crossbow displays the hallmarks of sylvan craftsmanship at its best. Meticulously carved along the length of the prod is a majestic snow owl in flight, its talons outstretched and its eyes focused on some unseen prey. The tiller is adorned with a silver-inlaid family crest, composed of several sylvan runes, with the name "D'Lawliss" carved beneath it. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

a curved black falchion
My favorite weapon I ever had was a vaalorn-edged mithril alloy glaive, but that was a long time ago and all my equipment blows now.
Found this in the skull temple with Meos, I handed it down to my warrior though.
s>tap flail
You tap a skull-tipped rolaren flail.
s>l my flail
The heavy white oak handle of the flail is topped with a leering gremlin skull. Six long chains of barbed rolaren issue from the gremlin's mouth, and each one ends in a bleached rat skull. Slivers of bright red drakar gleam from the naked jaws of the rat skulls, and each rat skull bears a twisted eahnor sigil etched in the center of its forehead. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

I like a few different ones because they're on different characters.
a slender witchwood runestaff with a carved maiden lithely rising to form an intricate cap

And...

Widget, gizmo and doodad are basically words that don't describe any real objects. Gnomes seem to like these little complex objects that don't do anything and I could get away with throwing a few on at the Dhu Gilly heh.

This is the weapon my warrior has had since 2 trains:
a razor-sharp steel claidhmore
l my claid
This claidhmore is finely crafted from durable steel with the blade sharpened to perfection. A slight dullness along the length of the blade contrasts with the sharp edge and indicates years of use. The worn veniom-threaded cording wrapping the handle bears imprints of the hands of the owner who has long been wielding the weapon.

I know I just posted this, but:
a double-headed steel battle axe
Larger than normal, the double heads of the axe are formed of wickedly sharp steel. A thick shaft of ironwood supports the blades, capped with a large steel spike. Four eight-pointed stars have been carved in a row on the shaft, and one rests on each of the heads. Strips of thick leather, dyed a deep grey, provide a sure grip. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
6x with ice flares.

5x cold flares I think (Cant remember exactly I havn't used it since I went stave) heavilly scripted and pocketed.
an autumnal hued rolaren longsword
An oil and folding treatment has been applied to the rolaren blade of this longsword, giving it a swirl of autumnal colors that blend from mustard to rust to olive and ochre seamlessly. A fine kidskin has been bound in a complex weave around the hilt, and the pommel is cast in heavy silver to form a pair of wood sprites intertwined in dance. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
You unscrew the pommel of your hued rolaren longsword and slide a black crystal into the handle. You screw the pommel back into place.

Here's my favorite staff.
an elaborate mossbark runestaff
The fine, dark-grained mossbark of this runestaff has been carved as the body of a dragon. Sitting atop the staff is the dragon's head, bent downwards with its mouth open and tongue extended through its toothy maw. Its tail curves along the bottom of the staff, and a dainty sprite has been carved holding on to the end of it, smiling up at the fierce dragon that will never reach it. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

An onyx-hafted godendag
This slightly curving blade has been crafted from a darkened steel and veined with onyx. The thick metal has been folded upon itself over and over, giving it a very fine edge and strong forge. Along the blade Saramar runes have been etched their meaning known only to Ishan long since past. The haft has been wrapped in treated leather giving a comfortable yet secure grip. At the base of the shaft a large onyx stone etched with two crossed battle hammers and the letters "A.R." has been securely set. The godendag is surrounded by a scintillating white light.
Altered naginata so it's 4x eblade-able, always ebladed so it's 8x air flaring and I swing it faster than Artha gets off looking at chicken pr0n.

A Hendoran mithril claidhmore
The long mithril blade displays an extensive pattern of scroll work which has been expertly acid-etched into the mithril. The midnight blue gak skin-bound hilt is fashioned with extra length to give the wielder an exceptional amount of leverage when swinging this weapon. The crossguard is wrought from a solid piece of mithril, with a detailed representation of Mensyl Keep deeply engraved across its surface.

an ebony-hilted slender rolaren longswird
Shadow-grey suede wraps the ebony grip tightly, allowing only a narrow border of the deep black wood to emerge at either end. Smaller shards of ebony and moonglae opal inlay a decorative pattern of intertwining laurel leaves and blossoms along the silvery rolaren quillions and pommel. A single leaf reaches out from the quillions to the tang of the slender blade, where it meets the beginning of the blood groove. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

A masterfully crafted massive waraxe.
This masterpiece among weapons features two sharp rolaren crescent blades linked in the middle by a splendid carving of a rearing puma viewed from the side. Elaborately embossed patterns along the sides of the head create sinister shadows regardless of the angle the light strikes them. The smooth bloodwood handle is wrapped in heavy, double-wound leather lanyards studded to the haft to ensure a perfect fit in her master's hand. Deeply engraved into the highly polished endpiece is the name, "Betsy." You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

A Scarred Ora Kazunel War Hammer With A Mithril-Wrapped Haft
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
Damp warmth washes over you immediately, and your heavy breath echoes hollowly off the close stone walls. As you shift your feet, the feel of the sharp grit of a rocky floor is noticeable through your boot soles. You begin to notice the sensation of your visceral form; wide shoulders, stout limbs, and a thick low-slung belly. Smoothing your beard in a gesture that seems practiced, your fingers trail across intricate thick braids running down your chest, stopping a moment to finger a heavy Kazunel clan beard clip. Your eyes adjust with natural dwarven quickness to the pitch black, and a dim glow emanates from somewhere ahead. You pick your way slowly towards the weak light, surrounded by the sounds of dripping water and rough scraping alternately plinking and shuddering through your bones.
The dim light ahead swirls and fades as your heavy grip suddenly loosens and the hammer almost slides from your grasp.
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
With eyes shuddering from darkness to a bright bluish-green glow, your vision swims into clarity. Forms become distinguishable as you adjust to the change, and the hardy body you inhabit is comfortable. A rusty yet serviceable cart on sturdy tracking is half filled with shining chunks of mithril ore, and several well-used mining axes rest against a mined rock wall next to their stout companions. A deep grunt of satisfaction escapes your throat, as the sharp scent of the ore mixes in your nostrils with a soft yet salty smell of freshly-hewn rock. As you approach the methodically-cut wall, your strong calloused fist clenches around the smooth haft of your heavy forging hammer. Suddenly you feel like you are plunging forward and down, your eyes close and your stomach lurches.
Your hand tenses hard around the hammer and the vision passes, though the awareness of your belly clenching and roiling persists.
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
Blasted with brilliant light, your eyes close reflexively and you flinch away from pulsing waves of white-hot heat. Immediately you erupt into a heavy dripping sweat and your eyes slowly open. Squinting through a shimmering filmy haze, you can make out a stout smoke-vomiting forge humming with flame. Gripping the hammer's hilt protectively in your hand, you look down to see a fine-edged mithril dagger upon the anvil, and you grunt quietly to yourself in appreciation. The marriage of a near-perfect mithril double-edged blade with a simple yet elegant balanced gold hilt pleases you, and you scoop it up to examine your work. As you touch the edge of the blade with the tip of your tongue, a slight metallic tang rings through your mouth.
Your hallucinatory body turns, the brilliant light from the forge near-blinding your eyes to the darker recesses of the room. Suddenly a sweaty chill races up your spine and the vision ends.
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
A sturdy but not yet properly stout dwarven boy races into the room, a shred of panic washing over his features. "Orcs!" he cries in a still squeaky voice. Without thought you discard the dagger back to the anvil, your other hand deftly releasing a winged mithril helm from the wide belt around your girth. Striding to the door, you heft your hammer, turning to the boy grunting plainly for him to stay put. He nods at you with mingled fear and admiration as you stride out.
A scene that seems all too familiar plays out in front of your eyes, a good-sized contingent of vicious orcs versus your clan family in a passionate yet almost routine fray. Moving efficiently through the battle, you are surprised by a sharp thud hitting the back of your neck. Your head snaps forward with an uncontrollable jerk like the swing of a clumsy apprentice's hammer stroke. You fall face-first to the floor, a wheezing grunt escaping your lips, and the vision fades.
Blackness slides across your field of vision, your muscles go limp as you barely retain hold of the hammer. A wheeze blows past your lips as you feel brief warmth, a thudding pain and then a return to your true senses.
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
Your vision becomes brighter and slowly clears, while a different sensation of body and feeling envelopes you. Sadness mingled with resolve overcomes your emotions as you look into your now smaller hands. You feel as if you want to cry, but you know you cannot, and will not. Through the doorway, within the throng of your clan and the squealing orcs, your father's body has fallen and does not move. You wait, each moment telling yourself that he will rise, but his form remains still.
Breaking inside, knowing you are foolish, you rush through the doorway and out into the melee. As you reach your father, an orc in a mottled iron-spiked helmet raises its crude broadsword to strike at his motionless body. Taking up the forging hammer from the ground, the weight as comforting as a mother's yank on your beard, you swing it with all your might into the gibbering beastial warrior's skull.
Knuckles aching as they turn white on the hammer's haft, you suddenly gasp and your vision clears. The vibrations of striking the death blow still quaking through your arm, the poignancy of the historic illusion remain strong in your mind.
Waves of warmth and heaviness invade your body as your vision tunnels down into a mere pinpoint of light that pulses for a moment then winks out. You feel your mind enter that of a previous owner with a gentle transition.
A flicker in the corner of your eye grabs your attention and forcibly intrudes into your sight, resolving again into the cavern-like room and the blazing forge. Placing the hammer on a sturdy glaes-topped mithril stand, beside others of its brethren, you grunt sadly and look away for a fleeting moment. Outside the open doorway you can see others from your clan, even some as young as you are, dragging away the corpses of orc and brother alike. Glancing back at the fine mithril dagger on the anvil, a sense of burgeoning pride swells within you, and deep purpose binds your soul to this moment. You realize that the work of your father will outlast even your own grandchildren's children, and you smile slightly, proud yet resigned, and walk quietly back towards the hammers and forge.
As the visions organize in your memory, a shroud of sorrow settles lightly across a steely admiration for the smith and his brave son. Softly, you run a thumb over the hammer's head a few times and your awareness begins to recover, the visions dissipating into a deeper part of your memories.

Master dwarven craftsmanship shines through on this immense bearded waraxe. The axehead has been forged from a strong dwarven alloy with an elongated curve that appears razor sharp, which has a single wickedly sharp spike set along the back. An intricate dwarven design has been etched and blackened onto the blade. The sturdy veniom haft has been wrapped with a pyrothag hide grip, stained from long use. Along the haft in scrolling letters are the words, "Burk Khazad". You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

Ti's kitten sword was never any uber weapon of doom, it was just an altered vultite broadsword. I really loved the silly thing, though.
You remove a silvery vultite broadsword embossed with a prancing kitten with emerald eyes and one tattered ear from in your brushed leather harness.
My alltime favorite alter that I've ever seen was the sword my friend Aerofoil used to carry.
>look sword
You see an ordinary sword. It is so ordinary, it hardly warrants more than a cursory examination. Ordinary is, in fact, too flamboyant for such a nondescript weapon. a wooden staff
Roughly cylindrical, this item extends a good six to seven feet in length. Closer examination reveals the item to be constructed or perhaps carved from a hard organic substance, possibly some dried or petrified plant matter. Remnants remain of a coarse thick protective covering in places here and there over the mostly exposed lighter inner core. In other words, it's a stick.

an etched black alloy dirk 4x can be charged to 5x.
>turn my dirk
You turn the black alloy dirk over in your hands, watching as shadowstuff pools on the surface and appears to trap the available light, casting a shroud of gray darkness over itself.
>l at my dirk
The black alloy dirk would be a simple, if somewhat ornate, dirk except for the odd black alloy that comprises the blade and handle. The metal seems to waver and blur at one moment, and then snap into focus the next. Along the blade are etched intricate runes, each rendered illegible because of the odd blurring effect. The handle, made of the same black metal, is wrapped tightly in corded wire and snares a large black diamond cut into an intricate oval cut in the pommel. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
>rub my dirk
You rub the black alloy dirk noticing how it appears almost insubstantial, but just as quickly returns to its solid state.
A voice whispers, "Master, I thirst for blood..."
