I was just looking at the proposed training costs for Paladins: http://www.play.net/gs4/news/simucon_2004_notes/paladins.asp
and one thing I noticed was dodge training cost, very hefty at 8/5. Is this going to be a major issue for non OHE/OHB paladins? Simu's stated position is that semi's are expected to do .75x training in dodge, but don't you figure that when they said that, they were including mobiles and song of mirrors in the equation? On top of that, rangers can hide, and bards are.. well.. bards and just too good to begin with. Paladins will definately not be hiding/ambushers (can only 1x hiding and ambush) so they will be out in the open a lot and exposed to manuever attacks more than at least rangers. On the other hand, looking at the costs of all their other skills I'm a bit jealous (paying 12/4 every training for THW with my ranger makes me sad now) and it seems like otherwise everything is on the cheaper side, minus spells.

Paladins are basically being forced into the sword and board style if they want to have a decent DS.

Also, kudos on the title.

Up to chain before the spell hinderance will become prohibitively expensive, rangers can do that too, so I don't think that's much of an advantage... they could get there faster at least..

Which kinda sucks, I was thinking about converting a cleric I have over to a paladin, because I have some fairly decent sancted two handers that I'd like to see utilized to their fullest, as well as purify + claidhmore. But looking at their DS options it seems like that might be a real problem now.

A paladin should be happy as a semi with significantly more armor efficiency when compared to ranger who is splitting hairs in comparison.

Well paladins DO get a spell that supposedly lowers magic hindrance...

So they might be in plate after all.

I doubt the training costs are totally locked in stone either.
