Archery vs. Undead

I know that it is not very practical, so please, hold the flames. I am a Forest Gnome Ranger, and an archer. I enjoy releasing the souls of the undead in my quest to help Voln, but it is often more annoying than it is worth. I have to go around town begging to have my arrows blessed almost between every hunt.

My question: is there a better way to go about this? Do magical bows allow you to hit undead? Or is it only the arrows that matter? Are there any archers out there with any advice?

Its the arrows that need to be blessed, but the higher the enchant on the bow, the higher your AS

There are some (not many now) vultite and faewood arrows around that give you +20 to your AS .

My ranger is and always has been an archer, since before GS4 and manages fine.

Some undead dont puncture (sacrisanct spirits). Some dont crit (all undead in wraithenmist), some do and are great.

It's easily doable. Just have to get used to what you can and cant hunt.

Edited to add: and the bless thing is something that everyone hunting undead has to do until they are able to bless themselves.

So, really the only way to kill undead are with blessed arrows? That seems pretty tedious, begging for bless so often.

i don't see why you are begging for blesses so often, if you get a bundle of 100, and have a cleric break that up into several smaller bundles, and bless each small bundle then bundle all the little ones together, you should have a great ammount of blesses, i often take my archer through several hunts without needed to get my arrows re-blessed

Have the cleric bless 10 bundles of 10, if you can. There's a limit of 999 shots, but that'll last quite some time.

The nice thing about bows is that since you bless the arrows not the bow you can use "Symbol of bless" on arrows instead of symbol of holiness, which is a very big deal. Symbol of holiness (magical metal bless) costs 108 favours, symbol of bless costs 12. You can symbol of bless all day and have it barely affect your stepping but still get the bonus from a 4x bow. This is an advantage that naginata and bow users have over anyone who has to use symbol of holiness to bless their weapons.

Or you could by my blessing sheath in my shop. 5x a day for 10 bless's per. 100 arrows = 1000 shots * 5
