View Full Version : Anything new game-play wise?

I heard there was another Hot Summer's Night again this year and was just wondering if it brought any new things to the game that change the style of it. Is the game still hunt, rest, hunt, rest, sit around and chit chat/roleplay all day? I don't care about new races, new professions, new spells, new combat abilities and all that as it's just an extension of the same ol' same ol'. Is there anything new to do to spend one's time in-game besides all that? I've been wanting to pop in and check out the game again since a couple people miss me but I kinda want some new stuff that I haven't done repeatedly non-stop for a third of my life (ugh, sick, heh), ya know? Sooo, what's up, or should I just check back next year?

Nothing new, if you eliminate everything on your list.

Non-combat EXP is right around the corner.

Player-run shops have opened.

Eh, I did my time being a merchant so that's old. It'd be no different with player-run shops. Sit around until someone comes around to buy something or else just chat with others like usual in the meantime.

Non-hunting experience sounds cool. What are the various things that will be able to be done to gain experience? I remember hearing about Quests, has any details but given on that or anything else? Experience for stealing by any chance? I have a complete in-town only bard that picks and steals (no combat skills whatsoever) so that'd be killer if so. Any details on all that? If there's not many ways to gain alternate experience then that sucks and I guess I'll check back next year or so, heh. Thanks for the info, all.

They've released a canned quest to obtain a 0x crit weighted katana but no experience as far as I've heard and its only time only.

The alternate experience method being worked on currently has something to do with Ice Mule's windmill. That will be the testing ground for the system.

There has never been any mention of experience for stealing. I think you'd see a fart roleplay verb before that ever happened.

I spent maybe an hour total in my shop (most of which was setting it up) and it made like a million in a month just sitting there. Then it made 7 when I sold it.
