Barebones

Wspec (3) ---> Bonding (5)
Combat Mobility (2)
Parry Mastery (3)
Cunning Defense (5)

Then based on what you wanna do.

Have those covered barring Cdefense....why that?

Also how do you feel about mongoose and exec.

Cdef gets you general maneuver defense to all of them. It's like getting an extra couple points on to every roll. Should be on EVERYONES list.

Mongoose, Executioner, Dervish, all come down to your play style as do most outside of that.

So really what I'm saying is, if you have all those other bases covered...at this point you get to have fun and pick things that will make the game more interesting to you.

Yay! It's your birthday!

Jeril, your Combat Maneuver training is as follows:

Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Combat Focus focus 5
Twin Hammerfists twinhamm 1
Mighty Blow mblow 1
Sunder Shield sunder 4
Hamstring hamstring 2
Charge charge 2
Subdual Strike sstrike 2
Specialization I wspec1 5
Weapon Bonding bonding 5
Combat Mobility mobility 2
Bull Rush bullrush 2
Surge of Strength surge 5
Parry Mastery pmastery 2
Cunning Defense cdefense 4

Those are my combat maneuvers. I've got the 2 ranks of charge, bullrush, sstrike, and hamstring just for defense. Those 2 ranks of parry mastery are more to better protect escorts/children then for myself. I've got that single rank of twinhammer fist for amusement and it is a great for helping lower level people. Sunder shield is used against sirens and crusaders mostly. Someday I'll have the enhancives to stop using surge but I'm not in a hurry to collect those just, I want to max combat maneuvers first.

I should also add that I've got 30 ranks of shield use and all 5 ranks of shield bash for defense against it as well. And if I wasn't so focused on gaining spell ranks right now I'd pick up another chunk of shield use to add in ranks of shield charge, not really an issue but it is annoying now and them.

Bump for great justice.

Has anything changed in the last couple of years? And is an off-the-shelf claidh worth bonding to until I get something better? (level 18 warrior)

Mechanically you should always be bonded to something to get that sweet sweet bonus. From a role play stand point I went without a bonded weapon from 50 up to 96 or so and did just fine.

Parry mastery + mongoose makes me want to have a warrior.
