Has anyone been there?

Is it worth the time and effort?

http://www.spymuseum.org/

I think I might make the trip next weekend. They have an interesting exhibit on terrorism in America right now.

I haven't been there, Beth, but a friend of mine has. She was very impressed. I hope you enjoy it. Be sure and post about it, if you go. :)

HarmNone would love to go, too

The Metro stop is Gallery Place/Chinatown on the green line. Sounds good. Another PC gathering? Chris?

Is that the one in DC? I think I went there when I went on my trip out there.. It was pretty cool as far as museums go.

So come! :-P

I'll be sure to take pictures, sounds like Backlash might be interested in going, and we'll drag The Korean too.

It's smaller than I thought it'd be, but definately worth going to see.

I wish I could come with you all, Beth. Unfortunately, work demands aren't allowing for much travel these days. :(

Everyone's welcome, but we're not going to be having an overnighter like last time. (I don't think, my place is too small for more than 1 person, but a hotel would be do-able.)

oh, and I'm not drinking this time.

Artha, where exactly do you live? I have use of a vehicle this weekend, I might be willing to come get you.

There has to be a bus from Richmond to DC, Artha. Given enough time I’ll find one... but really, thats your job.

VRE runs from Richmond, and is pretty quick IMHO.

As for the Spy museum, there is a new exhibit that started this week called the Enemy Within. I've been told that its pretty interesting as well.

When are you guys going? I might be able to get y'all a group rate discount.

I was thinking Saturday. Sunday I have to go do the 'pick up friends from airport' thing.

I could probably get a Greyhound bus too. It says they take between 2.5 and 3 hours, and I'd have to get to/from whatever stops they use and go on their time tables which might be inconvenient. I wish I could drive :(

Read about this exhibit in the Washington Post Express. A discount and next Saturday sound good.

If you can come up Friday night you can crash here at my friend's house.

They don't have cats, do they? Cats + me = not much breathing.

Revalos

I'll try to find out about the group rate this week.

The one thing you guys might have to deal with is that tickets are sold for specific times of day to go in (at least with the group rate they are). So you'll have to come up with a time on Saturday if you want the rate.

There are no cats in the museum to my knowledge.

Oh...you were talking about that guy's house...I was wondering.

Dogs are cool, and I don't think I'm allergic to lizards.

The museum hours are 10am - 6pm daily. So... in lieu of bus trips, lets say noon Saturday the 18th at the Spy Museum ticket office.

Looks like tickets are $17 dollars each. Yeah, a discount would be awesome. They say the tour is at most 3.5 hours. That gets us out at 4 and I know a couple of good pubs close by where we can chill, indulge and converse about anything.

I may be mistaken, but underage can attend the afterparty because the places also serve food. No drinky-drinky. BYOB

We should Metro for sure.

If I had actual pics from the Renfest posted, some people might actually realize that we are serious about doing these things. But no. Dumbass here can’t burn a CD on a PC.

How much would all this cost (without bus fare)?

I don't have webspace to post them but I'll email them to you one at a time.

You could upload them to a photo album on the PC.

How many folks are going? I need a number for the group. I'll be able to get back to you either tommorrow night or Thursday if I can get the rate.

If I can't get a discount, do you still want a group reservation? It may reduce the amount of time you have to wait in line.

If I get it, I'll have the tickets reserved at the group door (which is different than the usual entrance, its around the side).

Betheny
09-14-2004, 07:44 PM
So far there's 3, I'm trying to get more to go. Maybe some people from work.

Revalos
09-14-2004, 09:59 PM
I think it has to be at least 5 or 6 for a group. I'll still check.

I have to go house hunting in College Park, otherwise I'd go.

Shit, its like 20 people needed for a group. That wasn't the case last year when we had about 10 people go. Anyway, hope y'all have fun.
