It dropped. Were there any features you guys looking forward to? I tried messing around on the Timeless Isle a bit but the lag was terrible and there were a lot of bugs.

Since everyone else who played WoW died, I'll just talk to myself. I guess Timeless Isle is just a big loot grab? Free 476+ gear just lying around waiting to be picked up and sent to your alts, I got 4 pieces in 30 minutes.

Yeah, it's all 496+ except for a couple crappy weapons. I've been gearing up alts and their offspecs too but now all the morons running around camping their own faction have started so I probably wont be there much.

This would had been especially nice to have in-place *years* ago... http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/10175200/ (Flexible Raid Sizes)
I like this too: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/blog/10405142/ (PvE 'proving grounds')

That is what you get out of my indicating it was a good change, but wishing it was years sooner?

I'm on the outside looking in now, but I went right to WoW after I quit GS years ago. Played from launch right up until Throne of Thunder (I think) in Pandaria.
I browsed through 5.4's patch notes and they actually seem pretty awesome. The flexible raid size would have been perfect for my guild, I actually ended up quitting because lack of interest from my guild about raiding in Pandaria. We'd always have almost enough people to raid...but always missing one or two people from week to week.

BC may have been too soon for it, but I think had they introduced the flexible raid thing in WotLK, could had avoided some of the deterioration of guilds and the community as a whole (pre-empt the splintering of large 25m into much smaller 10m guilds).
Heck, they should had done it instead of LFR. Ideally, game developers are encouraging the development of social bonds, vs the disassociation factor brought on by the ease of popping on, queuing for a raid, not talking to anyone, and logging off.

I think the biggest things that hurt guilds are the dumbing down of content and nearly at-will server transfers along with name/faction/etc changes.

Is HoR doing Flex? You might need to drag my priest through that, as well as my Horde toons still on Dunemaul (LOL, DUNEMAUL).

Probably tonight we'll flex. We're raiding with Solstice now in an attempt to keep enough bodies and progression happening when people are out for work/etc.
Still playing still raiding still having fun. I think pandaria was well done. I love that my alts all have great gear now and i don't have to work hard to get it for them heh.

Yeah, I'm now leveling my alts now that I'm out of work and in Baltimore and need to hide in my room on occasion. The Timeless Isle made that relatively easy. Too bad most of those alts are still on Dunemaul.

Between this and the ability to gear up your characters through the raid finder just made it unnecessary to work to find a cohesive guild that could accomplish content. I don't even think hardmodes or achievements outweigh the ability for lazy people to be competitive anymore.

Which obviously hurt the server-wide communities by extension.
If this flexible raiding thing is mechanically successful, I would like to see LFR removed, and WoW evolves back to fostering the cohesion of guilds (and server communities).

Except with flex raiding, you don't have to be on the same server. They've already said time and again, flex is not replacing LFR. It's for two different audiences.

Honestly, I would like to see the removal of LFR as well as the removal of farming for gear. I still believe that the beginning of WoW's downfall began in BC when they introduced daily/weekly commendations for buying raid-level gear.

LFR is fine for content tourists. If it were removed or replaced, you'd just see the WoTLK/early Cata thing where raids only accept people if they already have the achievement or gearscore.

My father was diagnosed in early Sept and is dying of bile duct cancer, and the whole family has stopped working to come down here and have some good ole family time (which I sometimes need to escape) before the end. We're blessed that we can afford to just drop everything and be together, but it's fairly stressful to say the least. Why do you think I've been back on these forums a bit more in the past few weeks, and in WoW?
If you read the Frown thread, you'd know this.

I knew about your father I didn't realize you'd taken a sabbatical as a result.
You need to get a horde guy up to snuff so we can use and abuse our long lost cinnamon bear.

My sister is on a leave of absence, I actually quit to free up the budget to allow them to hire another person, with the understanding I can go back when I'm ready at my previous position, and when they have a position open.
Also, I'm leveling up my shaman first, but the bear will be second, though I literally know nothing about bear tanking this xpac. Not that that stopped me in ICC.

Ok, so anyone still playing that wants to run flex raid cross server? Fucking tired of pugging half a raid every night and then they leave when you wipe once or twice.
Usually run Tu/Th/Su at 8 CST.

About a 505 would be ok for flex as long as you know how to play....so you'll need a 540 ilvl.
