First GTA I played since 3 or Vice City, which ever was newer. I forgot how to drive so I was running into everything.

This game is awesome. Setting up Heists is pretty badass too. Picking the way you are going in, selecting your crew, etc.

I haven't gotten to heists yet, just spent a couple of hours dicking around last night, bit damn it's fun. It seems like they really improved the handling of vehicles across the board and made driving even more fun and fast paced than it was. I had three stars and was running from the cops in one of those stupid little toaster looking cars and I was zipping through traffic like crazy.

So, I switch from Michael to Trevor and Trevor is riding down the freeway on a scooter next to some other guy on a scooter, which in itself is hilarious. Overall this is probably one of the top 3 games I've ever played. And I'm only like 30% through.

My biggest problem seems to be getting to the actual missions. I always manage to piss off the cops right before I get to the mission, no matter how far I had to drive before that. I should start taking a taxi.

I'm right at 30% myself and I've noticed the same thing. I'll fly through half the city at full tilt and get a star when I come to a crashing halt right in front of the mission.

The game is definitely at the top of my non-RPG list. I liked the mission where you switch between the characters, with Franklin giving sniper cover and stuff. Rampages are good times. Romping through the hills on a crotch rocket is a lot of fun, you can get some serious air. I like riding bicycles through the city and bounce-hopping off of incoming traffic.

I get sidetracked a lot.

Same here, I go into the game with the goal of doing a few missions quickly... but I always get sidetracked. Like I switch to Franklin and he's trying to keep Lamar from getting in a fight with two other dudes. So of course, I have to then go after those guys and beat the shit out of them, which then gets the police after me. Another 5+ minutes of running from the cops and invariably I bump into someone and they say something disrespectful, or I get bumped by someone driving a car who I then have to shoot. Cops again...

30 minutes later, I realize how long its been and I'm jesus, I just wanted to do some missions!!!

That's what makes GTA so awesome though. It can get annoying at times, but it's ok because you only have yourself to blame.

I've always had this "problem" with any GTA game, but for some reason it's 42834307x more fun on this one. I like how cops have a line of sight now too when you're escaping, similar to Metal Gear Solid, instead of just the "if you're in the flashing radius, they know where you are" it used to use.

I honestly can't think of a single complaint with this game yet. If I were to have one though, it would be when I walked onto a random basketball court hoping to be able to shoot hoops, and couldn't.

Also is it just me, or do you feel like you're on Jackass when you drive the golf cart around when you go golfing?

On a smaller side note, I felt like I was playing Red Dead Redemption for a bit when I started using Trevor in that area.

Not sure how "additional content" is seen as a PC exclusive thing other than mods. Plus Rockstar already said they're gonna be adding new shit to GTA (online at least but probably offline too) a lot.

It depends on the type of game for me.

FPS games and shit, all PC, at least until consoles have real mouse support. I'd rather play FPS on consoles since most of my friends aren't PC gamers, but fuck using analog controls.

Fighting games I stick to console, though they're slowly creeping onto Steam now, but I don't see PC ever replacing consoles as the main platform fighting games, especially on the competitive/tournament scene.

RPGs can go either way, but most big releases tend to come out on console first, and I'm not gonna wait an extra year for a PC port.

Last night I was playing as Trevor driving up to meet Cletus and learn how to hunt, a random event popped up down this ravine with all these off-road trucks and dead bodies all over the place. Further down a hill there was a dying guy with a briefcase not far from him. Grabbed the briefcase, 25k.

I got iFruit. Barely worked at all for the first week though to get logged in. It has a thing to train Chop, soup up your car, links to GTA3 and Vice City apps, Lifeinvader (not sure what purpose this serves other than to get 10% off stuff like auto and hospital bills if you stalk their page), and a link to the Social Club.

The car mods and Chop training are the main uses. There's probably more detailed info on youtube or something.

But unlike shooting zombies, or Nazis, or orcs, it is interesting that this setting sold so many games.

So there's an infinite money glitch right now...

Sell your car in the shop, then immediately pause the game, go to the online menu, select swap character, pick the same character when the character screen comes up and it drops you back into the game with the car you just sold plus the money you sold it for a minute ago. You can do this forever with the same car, at least personal vehicles. I maxed out my car for the upgrades I have unlocked and I'm getting 82k a pop selling it over and over. Already made a few million just today in a couple hours. Works on both systems.

If you upgrade your car to make it worth more, you have to exit online and go back in after buying the upgrades but before selling the car so the upgrades will save.

I happened to log into a game just as some guy was explaining this to someone else. Tried it and it works. Cash in on it while you can.

anyone still messing around on gta5? had it before and ended up selling it because i didnt mess with it too much but i ended up buying another copy the other day. could use some help leveling up from a person that can atleast run rooftop rumble for us(i think thats available once you hit 75?) i also know a pretty decent money/car dupe glitch that ignores the car selling timer, takes around 7-10 minutes or so to do it so its pretty quick. so if anyone happens to still be playing around in it let me know.

It's funny that companies even make the attempt to stop players from modding the game. Even with the modders claiming that Rockstar did everything in their power to stop the game from being modded, it was cracked for modding within 48 hours of release. If their intention is truly to crack down on cheating, it is better to assume that the game WILL be modded, and spend your energy in coming up with a robust system to catch cheaters in the act, rather than attempting to stop them from ever modifying the game in the first place.

This same philosophy cannot apply to mods, especially since none are available to purchase from Rockstar ATM.

They block modding so expansions don't have to compete. I've noticed with a few games that after their life cycle completed it became even more moddable. I think Skyrim did it the right way, though... For a bunch of added quest mods you need some of the expansions.


PC controls suck, in my opinion. Still feel like I need to use a game pad to play the game properly (mostly because analogue steering). My hands don't work with game pads, therefore I've played like 2 missions and quit.

I should have learned after I picked up GTA IV on a whim, but I wanted to play this one after hearing so much about it. I don't have all digits on all fingers so I can't use L/R buttons very well. I can play, but any trigger controller larger than like SNES get uncomfortable really fast.

Fingertip joints are fused in all but the pinkies (can only bend in the first joint), middle finger on left hand stops at first joint, both index fingers stop a little past first joint. I don't even think about it until I wind up trying to use a modern controller.

Nostromo looks kinda cool, I've never really tried alternatives, I just stopped consoling after PS1/2. Thanks to GS, I was still a faster typer than anyone else I knew. :)

I just recently finished Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall, having put them off for a while. I loved them both, and when I hopped in Pillars it was kind of a system shock to go from cyberpunk to fantasy, but now I'm into it. First return to isometric rpg was when Wasteland II came out, which I had backed. I need to go back and play it now though, there was too much going on and I wasn't accustomed to the view and text reading yet, never got very far.

To stay moderately on-topic, does anyone know if I can remap all gamepad buttons on GTA 5? I see a bunch of configuration options, but nothing that lets me define my controls button-by-button. You would think people porting over to PC would learn by now.
