We changed isp's and for some reason there was a gap of ten days between ending one and getting the other so the last ten days of internet use for me has consisted of 20% actively doing stuff and 80% waiting for things to happen.

I hate dial-up.

Now though,
We got our new broadband and I know that when I press "post new topic" I wont have to wait for ages for it to post...it will do it more or less straight away.

Hunting in game is so cool now too, I type fire bow at whatever and it doesnt have the option of getting another couple of attacks in on me before the arrow flies...it happens straight away...wooohooooooooooo

And another good thing...we have pipex now, rather than wannapoo! Thats the best thing of all. :D

I think we would all be better off if there was a 10 second pause after one hits "post new topic". And a 5 second pause on replies.

15 seconds for any political thread replies.

Being liberated from dial-up is quite a feeling.

God yeah.
It's been so frustrating the last week.

There's a 30 second pause after replies, Wezas. Presumably for posting new topics, too.

I realize that - which stops rapid posters.

But there should just be a 5-15 second cool-down period between when someone presses the "reply" button till when it actually lets you type.

20-30 seconds if the post is in a political thread.

Oh. That makes more sense.

Or....we could expect people to impose their own "countdown" before posting. Now, there's a concept!:bleh:
