He was caught out in the sun in the finale. I'd be totally bummed if I thought for even one moment the producers would be dumb enough to kill off his character.

Yeah, Pam'll be there to save his ass somehow. You'd think he'd have dove into the snow rather than catch fire, but that's why I don't produce TV or movies, I guess.

The man is so many female's wet dream, considering the full frontal display I seriously doubt they will get rid of him. He was actually one of my favorite character's from the book. Alexander Skarsgard isn't how I envisioned Eric Northman but damn he is a hottie :)

Pam is the most interesting character of the whole series. In my opinion anyway. Although Jason Stackhouse is fun to watch. The pickles that man lands in crack me up.
And don't get me started on the technical details. I liked Anne Rice's take on a vampire who finds himself outside when the sun comes up: just dig a hole and pull the dirt in after himself. The TB vamps sure move fast enough to accomplish that, you'd think. Fucking producers.

Jason is pretty damn funny, but he's trumped by this dude right here:

Sadly there has been rumors of his leaving the show after this season circulating for a while. He's really the only reason I watch that train wreck of a show anymore.

I actually like Pam in the books better than Pam on the show. The only characters in the show I like -more- than the books are Arlene and Lafayette.

Well, the one saving grace was that the last 10-15 minutes of the finale had the feel of the first season to them (for me at least). My HOPE is that now that Alan Ball is gone they can try and salvage the series and all that crazy, stupid shit will go away. Sadly, they already did my favorite book in Season 3 so really I don't expect much. I think the later books in the series started becoming more like the show anyway.

I'm sure with that body and bad boy vibe he could go on to do a million action films.. and me.

I know that the show wasn't supposed to follow the books, but damn. Some of it has gotten so stupid it sometimes hurts to watch. I AM glad they didn't kill off Lafayette (Like in the books) because he is my FAVORITE character. But if Eric is gone, so to am I from watching the show.

Something a little yummy to watch.
The new showrunner confirmed recently that both the actor and character would return next season, and they've apparently started talking end date for the show, possibly next season.
However, given that Godric died several seasons back and he's reappeared several times since then, I'd reserve judgement on what that announcement actually means for the fate of Eric.
