So I'm torn on this. It's freaking Space Hulk the board game transferred to a computer but it's sooooo poorly done and buggy.
Has anyone else played this yet? What's your take on it?

I wasn't planning on buying it, since it didn't look hella impressive. I am surprised it is buggy, it seems like a very simple game.

This makes me sad, and I didn't even know it was out yet. I'll probably still try it.
Every time they fuck up a 40k game, a little part of me dies. Such a rich and awesome universe deserves rich and awesome games.

Pretty good video on it (Total Biscuit):

Looks like I was right to hold off. I usually get 40k games on release and I don't feel like I've been burned yet, but this looked like an overpriced corridor-only-XCOM-without-economy-and-basebuilding. I will probably check it out later once the price drops.
*edit* I did want to say that over the shoulder cam is fucking awesome.

I haven't played it yet.. was holding out for reviews. Sucks to hear that it's not very good.

Hey, we still have DoWII! And Space Marine is still fun.

Are you playing it on PC? The multiplayer has been dead for a while now... I uninstalled it after I spent 30 minutes waiting for a match, only to have 2-3 people enter then back out.

I have Space Marine on PC. I liked the single player, did Multiplayer a little, and was saddened when they opted to not create expansions or make a sequel. You can't end a game like that without closure!

I quite enjoyed Space Marine for the 15 or so hours I played it. I wanted more, but it ended and I never felt like replaying. Maybe I'll fire it up later and see if it's still good.
It made me really want a multi-racial version of the same game. Space marines are cool and all, I get it, but they get boring after a while. To be able to customize a character in that kind of game, use a Harlequin, or an Exarch, or a Lictor, etc. Seems too good to ever be made though.
I like Dawn of War but I get bored with the RTS format... acquiring resources, strange squad limits, just feels out of place in 40k.

I still play matches with a couple of friends once in a while. Haven't tried randoms since.. I don't remember, but it was one of the Steam sales and to get one of the badges you had to do something in multi. I still have it installed, though.

I liked how it encouraged you to balance typical third-person shooting and getting out in the fray, keeping your health up by chainswording the fuck out of some greenskins. A lot of people complained it was too short, but I thought the length was pretty perfect for that type of gameplay.
They could do so much more with the formula. A sequel with a ton more depth would be soooo welcome,.

TB nailed it.
The game is overpriced and buggy. I haven't experienced a frame rate drop but I crashed a few times with shoulder cam enabled. And yes, shoulder cam is pretty sweet, when it doesn't crash your game.
Also, Terminator armor being THAT weak to genestealers makes me cringe.

On Space Marine... the ps3 has a strong online community. There are in fact Chapters who openly recruit and duke it out. The story was pretty good but I feel like they could have gone with a (for lack of a better word) better chapter. I would love a proper RPG game.
I will go ahead and voice one disappointment on multiplayer. No mutations for chaos! You have different armor but playing with Death Guard chapter colors and not being all bloated and sick looking just feels lame. Even the DLC skins aren't much to write home about. No special perks or weaponry for chaos either. But it'd be hard to do that and stay fair. Here's hope for another game that expands upon that.

I liked the Ultramarines, well, only because I was sick of playing as the Blood Ravens. Space Wolves would have been awesome.

Dark Angels have always been my favorite chapter, lore and design, Ravenwing, Deathwing. Rules-wise I'm more a fan of Blood Angels though. I'm not familiar with the most recent editions however, maybe they added more.

A game as the Space Wolves would be pretty sweet because they beat the Hell out of the Blood Ravens and the UltraMarines.
What I'd really like is a game where you play as a legit Chaos Champion. None of this Eliphas bull they pulled with Dawn of War. It would be absolutely freaking awesome if they made a game where you could go and indepth explore what it would take to belong to a Loyalist Chapter or Chaos Warband and rise through the ranks. Say it once, say it a billion more times. RPG please.

Reason they keep making generics I suppose... I fucking hate space wolves. I mean, I would love a game that was made well even if I had to use space wolves, but they're by far my least favorite of the "main" chapters.

I guess there will be an expansion/DLC for Space Hulk that lets you play as the Space Wolves, along with the ability to edit maps, loadouts and the marines' appearance.
Might do a lot for the game.

This game worth the money?

It really depends on how much you liked the board game. If you never played it... probably not, at least not at full price.

Nope never did the board game. Just the books and video games.
