View Full Version : Buying and selling of MHOs (wtf!)

Hi everyone,
I want to be clear that if we find out that any MHO has been sold to anyone else, that group will be moved down to Tier 1. It is not acceptable to sell or buy an MHO. If an officer leaves a group, the other officers should continue to run that group. In the event that there are no officers to run the group, an active group member should take it over, or the group should be shut down.
I want any potential buyers to be aware that you could be wasting your money if you think you're buying a Tier 3 group. I'd also like officers of groups to be aware that you do not have to pay to take over a group. If you're an officer already and one of the officers leaves, you automatically continue to run that group. If a group is left without leadership, or with leadership that needs support, GM Haliste and myself are happy to support you with getting to grips with managing your group.
Please let me know if there are any questions regarding this matter.

Can't you just buy a character who is an officer or, pay someone to make your character an officer before they quit and easily accomplish the same thing.
It seems like there are so many ways around this rule that it's not enforceable in any degree. They might as well let you buy the MHO for silvers as another way to get silvers out of the game.

Sabreon is gone. He sold to Hels a couple days ago. THose of us left in certain MHO's I believe were already made officers. I think Dragauth(sp?) was put in charge of Dreadnaughts. So I don't think Hels is in charge of that.
Those of us left in Dread's should get in touch with Dragauth.

2 of the major MA'ing groups are out of the game at the moment. Kitsun will be back while Sabreon will not. Is it lonely in OTF?

HFS!!! What is going on these days? I get busy, don't play for a while, and all hell breaks loose.
Buckwheet is right, I am not Sabreon anymore and have not been since the transfer went through. I am not on Lnet and never have been on Lnet, so any chats or whatnot coming from them are not from me. I am also no longer Kranar, Kolts, and several of my unknown little ones. The rest of my characters are selling as soon as I finish moving junk around.
From what I have heard from a few people is that I was on Lich asking for 250 mil for MHO expenses that the gms supposedly billed me (Or something like that, I just woke up to a bunch of bits in pieces from people worried their group was sold.). Which is not true, I do not want to get into the reasons why I left yet, am too busy doing some other stuff. But I wanted to clear a few things up.
No group or people in the group is being sold.
Also any requests for silver from any of the characters named above, should be ignored. They are NOT pleas from me asking for silver so I will stay, or to pay off new fake bills.
Dragauth is back in the hands of the original. He will run House Dreadanught is being promoted from General to Commander.
Demanec will be in charge of the EDA. Dragauth will assist since Demanec is not around as much anymore.
Etc Etc. But those are the groups I have gotten the most Ims from people worrying. Those of you in the groups know both those guys well and I have no doubt they will do a great job in continuing the Alliance. (Or else they would not have it.)

Thread: Buying and selling of MHOs (wtf!)
better question is what the fuck do they do? And who joins them besides a group of twits playing house
Well... ask that question then, don't get all rep butthurt.
MHOs are basically little player groups that do stuffs. The official Houses belong to the CHE (Cooperative Houses of Elanthia) organization, while player run organizations belong to the Meeting Hall Organization (MHO).
CHE contain the houses. If you get bigger lockers through joining, you're talking about a CHE, examples include Paupers, Brigetta, Twilight, Phoenix, etc, etc.
MHO contains the other player-run things that you may have heard about. The Black Fist, the Temple Knights of Ta'Ardenai, Yllyc Simisiri, House Dreadnaught, I think the Ta'Vaalorian Crimson Legion may be technically an MHO as well. Ohh... Faendryl Enclave also. Pretty much any group that is established that doesn't fall into CHE is considered an MHO.
While CHE have influence points, which are earned and spent through performing events, as their main form of currency, MHOs rely on cold, hard silvers. Lets do another example. House Paupers earns 1 Influence point a month, we earn 2 if we hold one successful event. We don't NEED to hold events, but we earn points when we hold events. To build an Annex, we're probably going to spend about 40 influence points. Annually, a house can spend 30 points, additional spending will be considered supplemental, and not prioritized. Yes, that means our annex may deprioritize us, but we want to do it right!
If House Dreadnaught wants to establish their own tower, it's going to cost silvers. Unfortunately, I don't have MHO documentation, but for arguments sake, lets say 20m a room, plus additional for actionable furniture, etc... So their entire endeavor may run 250m.
CHEs have requirements on their officership for time spent in game each month available for questions from the general population. I believe we are required to hold at least 1 event a quarter, and we need to submit quarterly reports of all point earnings and expenditures.
At a minimum, MHOs are required to hold 6 events annually.
Both organizations have a direct line of communications with GMs, and allow for the creation of 'prize box' items. For example, last time we did a Dart game at House Paupers, I was able to distribute custom dart sets and altered bracers to participants that were inscribed with, "Drinking isn't required to play darts, but it helps", or something to that extent. Those were prize box items whose design had been approved by GMs, and have subsequently been made available for us to purchase at will with house funds (That's what we're spending your induction fees on).

Here's the link to the last MHO site that the now-former guru GM Reidyn set up: https://sites.google.com/site/gs4mho/ - Not sure if GM Haliste will continue to use it so YMMV I suppose.

Haliste points people to it often, so the assumption is that its accurate enough at this point.

It was also heavily edited recently so unless they decide to make up more rules with no notice then it should be pretty up to date.
