View Full Version : This is a funny log (edit)

Hmm, to preface this log, Chiv has an extreme hatred of krolvins and therefore half-krolvins, and he doesn't like dark elves all that much, but he'll tolerate them. He would more likely kill a krolvin than speak to them. There were two really young half-krols in TC and I told them to beat it, and they were like nope.

The bustling town comes together in this square. Halflings dressed in varying fashions stand about, some chattering happily, others reclining on cloaks laid on the ground. One ancient halfling leans against the base of the large ice statue of a mule, snoring blissfully. A feeling of community pervades the area, putting you immediately at ease. You also see a rose-marrow potion and a carved ice bench with some stuff on it.

He is in good shape.
He is wearing a black doeskin scabbard, a crystal amulet, a fang-fringed bronze leather pouch, some polar leather, a steel-bossed parma, a midnight blue eel skin pack, and some slouched black half-boots.

You say, "Thank you."

l zellYou see Zellerron the Necromancer.
He appears to be a Dark Elf.
He appears to be in the prime of life and taller than average. He has sparkling silver eyes and dark skin. He has long, silky silver hair worn in a ponytail. He has an angular face, a pointed nose and sharply-curved pointed ears.
He has a glossy black ebonwood pipe clenched between his teeth.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a plain black runestaff in his right hand.
He is wearing a strong leather gag, a red viper skin satchel, a crystal amulet, a pair of cloth gloves, a silk-laced black finger tab, a tiny black glaes spider, a warlock's pin, a bat-embossed ebony scroll tube, a dusty black wide-brimmed hat, a slim pebbled leather wand belt, a plain black vest, a black Sheru symbol, a tiny priest pin, a pair of black blood stained boots, a gruesome squirrel skull fetish, a monk's leather brandy satchel, a frumpy snake skin pack, some elegant black spidersilk pants trimmed with gleaming golvern thread, some ornate jewelled pewter finger-armor, a deep black sash, some barbed leather armor, a wild black rose, a basket-woven leather weapons harness, and a gold ring.

>Karthoon smiles.

>l cetieYou see Cetie.
He appears to be a Half-Krolvin.
He appears to be very young and tall. He has close-set emerald eyes and golden brown skin. He has short, tied back red hair streaked with silver. He has a thin nose and a pronounced jawline.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a leather sheath, a reinforced shield, a crystal amulet, a fur-trimmed canvas pouch, a hardened leather backpack, some sinew-laced boots, a pair of wolfskin pants, a tall fox fur hat, and some reinforced sealskin leathers.

Speaking to Cetie, you ask, "Back again?"

>Cetie says, "Yeps."

>Karthoon says, "Not good."

Zellerron blinks.

>You ask, "Call in backup?"

>You remove a bleached white skull from in your knight's surcoat.

It actually led to some good RPing after this. It was a fun conflict, and I didn't actually kill anyone, which I like.

I also like how I showed him my dhe'nar skull and then immediately afterwards got owned.

Oh yeah, to show that I'm not any better, here's my unedited reaction, that I took out of the first log, to him sleeping me.

Seems to me you just got a little bit of your own medicine. How about next time you stop being a bully and threatening to kill them?

Just part of the character, he's excessively kind to all other people, but there's nothing wrong with having a character who hates half-krolvin. Like I said; I enjoyed the conflict, I posted the log because I thought it was funny not because I wanted sympathy about some old guy coming into the conflict.

Its feasably possible that they sent out a thought when they woke from your symbol of sleep. Either way, your actions invited a response of kind. Be prepared to deal with alot of aggression if you intend to RP race hatred to the point of acting offensively towards other characters.

Yeah, definately. The game could use more people with defined dislikes, not less. I get very annoyed when I see some dark elves and elves giggling with each other, or lots of other things. It's not easy to play anyone who hates anything (other than BIG MEANIES like me) because most people will get pissed off at you, but like I said, anyone who has any kind of hatred (as long as it's not the kind that is just an excuse to PvP with other people) gets my stamp of approval. Races are RP choices, not stat choices, more people should treat it that way.

Oh yeah, Bob, have Bobmuhthol join voln if he's not, and then symbol of sleep people. Elemental CS is really hard to build up.

PS: I left out about ten minutes of telling the krolvin to get lost, me asking my talking krolvin sword what I should do about him, etc. before the log, and about twenty or thirty minutes of interactions with Zellerron and some other half-krolvins after the log.

Voln is koolz0rz. By the way, good work on RPing a rascist. It's hard to do and people just tend to whine. I get that shit all the time.

The problem with some racist characters is that they are done so poorly, to a degree being one you are always going to be obnoxious to some people but a lot of them lack any depth at all.

I think part of the problem is that we've been so conditioned that racism is bad in real life that many people think that if you are racist in a game you are doing some wrong to the player. Most dark elves I meet (who actually care about RP) have "disowned" their race, so it conviently lets them act however they want, same with most krolvins. I have a lot more respect for players of the "outcast" races who actually play them as they should be, but those are few and far between.

Going back to the father was killed thing, I actually had a character go demonic while I was hunting in krolvins, so I basically consider him the father of Chiv. I think that's a bit better reason than most people who do "your kind killed my family member and I hate you for it" type RPing. I also play Chiv as a "knight" which is common as well but I have his father being the actual Knight and Chiv took his dads stuff and is kinda looking for his place while trying to live how he thinks his dad did.

It does sound kind of like whining to me.

You slept two people and then had the same thing done to you.

You have no way to try to show they used any OOC method to call someone else. As far as you know, a third party called a common friend.

You want them to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not just someone on a power trip being a jerk yet will not do the same when they call someone in who can deal with you in a similar manner.

You can't post a log on here without getting yelled at. I said I wasn't mad about it, just that I thought it was a bit suspicious. Anyway, I deleted all the mention of them calling the other guy in via IM, happy?

Also, Nieninque, I have no idea who Arkans is, other than I see lots of logs of him dueling with people I consider idiots, so I can't comment on his "endorsement" I was just trying to talk about playing a racist in GS. I'm gonna go post on the official boards, damn.

I certainly was not trying to chase you away, but if you post a log of an altercation and then make comments of your own, what else is there for us to do but give our opinion?

I didnt say you were the devil or the worst thing in GS that ive ever seen or insult your mother, i pointed out what in my opinion was the error of how you were looking at the situation.

If such relatively mild criticism is enough to drive you away I don't really know what to tell you.

Nah, I'm just overeacting. Everyone on PC is so ready to jump on peoples asses, it just kinda gets on my nerves sometimes. I just felt like I was actually trying to discuss something seriously and everyone focused on something small that (to me) was a non-issue. I had a lot of fun with the whole situation, I'll interact with them again, I posted it because I thought it was amusing that I got hoist on my own petard, then I put some comments about what I thought happened.

Sometimes, I wish people would read the beginning thread, and at least give it 20 seconds to sink in the meaning before responding.

I'm glad you're able to rp out a conflict without it ending in death, and it seems the two of them were not upset by it in an OOC manner. You might even want to see if you can get some sort of CvC conflict going with them where you play out the racist char with them as long as you both agree to not let it get out of hand.

Kudos, man.

The good thing was that it didnt get out of hand.

The bad thing was that there wasnt a great deal of RP there.
Sleeping someone and leaving them in a different room for five minutes is hardly roleplaying.
