I know, I know..."Why not Ranger?"

The answer? 3x perception, 3x hide, 2x ambush basically.

XXXXX (at level 2), your base skill bonuses, ranks and goals are:
Skill Name | Actual Actual
| Bonus Ranks Goals Time to Goal
Armor Use..........................| 15 3 3
Combat Maneuvers...................| 15 3 3
Ranged Weapons.....................| 40 8 8
Ambush.............................| 30 6 6
Physical Fitness...................| 20 4 4
Dodging............................| 45 9 9
Survival...........................| 15 3 3
Stalking and Hiding................| 45 9 9
Perception.........................| 45 9 9
Climbing...........................| 15 3 3
First Aid..........................| 15 3 3
Pickpocketing......................| 30 6 6
Training Points: 20 Phy 34 Mnt

What I would like to know is if I keep armor at 1x and PT at 1.5x, will Dodge end up being too expensive at 3x? And how much of a difference in redux is there between 1.5x PT and say 1.333x PT, or 1.25x PT?

My goal with this guy is to be able to snipe as effectively as possible, and be able to aim from the open just as well. He is Dhe'nar, so for him missing would be insulting. And with smastery and mfire, this guy should rock pretty hard.

3x perception only helps you aim, because otherwise rogues would be better than rangers. Never mind the fact that rangers have spells to help them.

Right. I want him to aim as well as possible without spells.

Also, the AS boost for perception and ambush. It maxes at no more than 2 ranks per level, right? I've noticed that Ranger's usually have to choose between either perception or ambush. I figured, why not have both? So my question is this: Do you get the AS/DS(if any) benefits with both skills, or is it just one?

From my experience, being 2x with 404 up is equivalent to being 3x in perception.

As an archer, you can get away with 2.5x dodging if it's too expensive. I believe I was able to fit in 3x dodge, 2x pick/disarm, 10 spells, and two weapon types (brawling as well) as well as 1x in armor, but I had to sacrifice perception to 2x.

The difference in redux between 1x and 1.5x is negligible, and 1.5x to 2x about the same. Maybe it's more noticeable at lower levels though.
