Selling the following double leathers:

Great project for RtCF to make them Expertly Padded. It will be very cheap to finish off the padding on them.

a very simple doublet - 4x - MDP - 8 Pounds

Examining the doublet closely, it looks like it is masterfully padded, lessening the damage the wearer takes.

The first thing that strikes you about the doublet is the weight, which is about 8 pounds.

Your careful inspection of a very simple doublet allows you to conclude that it is soft leather armor that covers the torso, arms, legs, neck, and head.

Cash will be taken at $14 per.

Would have been a good item to use the ASG service at RTCF on, make some robes. At least for those 7 of us that like playing monks.

Pfft. I like robes, I'mma wizard! The thread on armor for wizard directed me to robes. I got a set worked on, bought all sorts of armor accessories, now when I train up to 15 ranks I'll have MCP leather equivalent coverage on everything but chest and abdomen. Not bad - and it leaves room for wearing enhancive armor pieces without switching to the next AsG and corresponding hindrance.

I put an armor concealer that looks like a robe over my fulls or doubles.

How about putting a robe armor concealer on your robe? Double the arpee, double the fashion statement.

mechanically why use robes over fulls for a pure?

I explained my personal reasoning somewhat in my earlier post

Cost less to pad, enchant, or put resistance on

Accessories can be added for the same effect, aside from chest or abdomen coverage

Not really any reason. Fulls are better in protection and there are probably still more higher end out there.

The differences in padding costs and such are so negligible.

Kind of. I think doubles were around twice what I paid to pad robes. The price between fulls and robes would've probably made a difference to me, personally, but probably not to most people who can afford the service anyway. Thus far, my new setup is working pretty well for me. We'll see what the future holds with it

I always just liked the image of a caster wearing, you know, clothes... And not armor.

I have a set of AsG 1 "some normal clothes" too, I had enchanted those suckers to 4x.
