Vs MCP plate:

You awake from a dream startled. You are lying down.
Roundtime: 3 sec.
You are awakened by Hoy's attack!
Sensing an impending attack, you manage to roll hard to the side, and then leap to your feet!
Hoy thrusts with a deadly vicious-tipped spear at you!
Some shadowy ebon battle armor partially deflects the onslaught of the slashing attack.
AS: +572 vs DS: +167 with AvD: +18 + d100 roll: +19 = +442
... and hits for 40 points of damage!
Upward slash gouges your cheek!
Left eye lost!
Pity.
You are stunned for 5 rounds!
The guiding force leaves Hoy.

Vs no padding plate:

Sensing an impending attack, you manage to roll hard to the side, and then leap to your feet!
Hoy thrusts with a deadly vicious-tipped spear at you!
AS: +497 vs DS: +132 with AvD: +18 + d100 roll: +72 = +455
... and hits for 47 points of damage!
Incredible shot to the eye penetrates deep into skull!
The misty halo fades from you.
You no longer hear the strange noises around you.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...

You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.

...departing in 13 mins...

so what you're telling me is that you like it when Hoy's Spear goes into your eye... and that you seek it out to test out things you didn't know about yourself?

Something along the lines of 7x perfect spear with 30 points or weighting and blink.

I haven't really done the math for my redux in a long time... somewhere between 60 and 70% prob I'd imagine... I dunno tho

The concept was released with the Embassy opening event in Illistim I believe. GM explained that the weighting is a phantom script, so it allows for blessing and such. The ones released at the embassy event were still enchantable, not sure about things with real undead bane?

Sooo... undead bane gives you a permabless AND extra weighting vs undead without occupying a normal feature slot? The 30 points of normal weighting don't interfere at all?

Seems pretty OP.

it is OP... I'm going to try and put undead bane on my coraesine flamberge... imagine having a permabless with weighting added to something like this on the noncorp

You swing a coraesine flamberge at an Illoke elder!
AS: +450 vs DS: +373 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +57 = +172
... and hit for 30 points of damage!
Torn muscle in the Illoke elder's left leg!
You feel a slight resistance from the weapon. Quicker than you are able to react the resistance fades and you notice your movements speed up!
You swing a coraesine flamberge at an Illoke elder!
AS: +450 vs DS: +368 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +64 = +184
... and hit for 37 points of damage!
Mighty blow cracks several ribs.
You feel a slight resistance from the weapon. Quicker than you are able to react the resistance fades and you notice your movements speed up!
You swing a coraesine flamberge at an Illoke elder!
AS: +450 vs DS: +368 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +20 = +140
... and hit for 20 points of damage!
Torn muscle in the Illoke elder's left leg!

You swing a coraesine flamberge at an Illoke elder!
AS: +450 vs DS: +368 with AvD: +38 + d100 roll: +6 = +126
... and hit for 8 points of damage!
Glancing blow to the Illoke elder's right leg!
A blast of air strikes the Illoke elder.
... 40 points of damage!
Hard strike to left arm breaking tendons and bone!
The Illoke elder is stunned!
A blast of air strikes the Illoke elder.
... 35 points of damage!
Strong blow to left arm breaks it!
The Illoke elder rumbles in pain as his heavy stone arm falls to the ground!
The elder's dark iron aegis falls to the ground.
A blast of air strikes the Illoke elder.
... 20 points of damage!
Light blow to left leg.
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Not always. Wyorm (or was it Tamuz) has made many posts about it in the past. There are a few different undead banes, some have permabless and some don't.

All undead bane will hit undead without a bless. None of them are player enchantable (it was initially stated they were, but was later said to be a mistake and no bane weapon is player enchantable). Any bane can have features from weighting, flares or extra enchant against that particular creature or creature type.

The only real difference between undead bane and permabless is that your weapon will never have the appearance of being blessed (holy light), etc. So certain scripts like ironwright flares won't work with undead bane as it's not technically 'blessed'. And I don't believe that undead bane will hit a demon since there is not a bless on the weapon, but I don't believe anyone has an 8x undead bane weapon or been able to use one against a demon if such a weapon has been created at any of the RtCF runs.

Could have sworn I read that there were different sorts of undead bane, with not all of them being permablessed. Perhaps the initial ones that were said to have weighting against undead, but were said to be enchantable.

Yeah, pretty much. The fact that you can have blink, weighting, perfect forging, and a bane on a weapon is pretty incredible.

Look for this spear to be 10x by the end of next RtCF. Then, and only then, will Neimanz have complete power!

There are different kinds of undead bane, and none of them are permablessed. Technically.

Functionally, they get the job done, in that they hit undead without needing to be blessed. But it's a different mechanic.

Was what I said not clear? Said to be further enchantable by the merchant. It was one of the sticking points as to why they were so awesome at the time.

It was said to be further enchantable, period. By the merchant. By a wizard. By premium points

I see the confusion in what I said now. The merchant said it was further enchantable by anyone. The weighting against undead was phrased as "A phantom script" so it meant you could throw flares on there, enchant it, have other weighting thrown on it. It acted as if nothing was currently on the weapon at all.

Undead bane too. It might be the best weapon in the game.

7x perfect xcw(30) undead bane blink T2 ensorcelled spear.

I still think a few other weapons might give this a run, the blink is just icing, the rest of it is just strong as fuck. You crit so much with it not so sure how often the blink pops. Effing absurd though!

Why did the blink make it so you couldn't take it to t5? If it already had t2 on it when you added the blink.... Is that a rule? Blink's can't be ensorcelled?

Also, can this spear be further enchanted by merchants to get it to 10x?

Yeah that makes sense. Will be interesting to see if someone can get it to tier 3. Maybe they'll do a merchant service to add ensorcelling to items like this sometime in the future.

And to the person that left me the rep, what is this, Fight Club rules regarding Neimanz's epic spear of doom? Are we not allowed to talk about it? Forgive me if so.

The second raffle is for five specially crafted weapons enchanted to a level akin to vultite that inflict more critical wounds against undead creatures of all types and remain both blessable and enchantable. Winners are expected to present themselves within ten minutes of their name being drawn. The available weapon types are: falchion, maul, lance, bastard sword, and knuckle-blade. The tickets are 100k a piece, there will be five winners selected, and the raffle is set to draw on Thursday at 10:00PM Eastern Time.

For additional details, please see the tickets on the respective raffle tables (a narrow raffle shelf for the gauntlets and an overturned raffle crate for the weapons) and best of luck!

The 'remain blessable' part was changed shortly after release too. People discovered that the undead bane weapons were hitting undead after blesses wore off and they let it stay that way instead of nerfing undead bane. Shockingly.

Ironwright and undead bane do work on the same weapon, but yeah you still have to bless it first to infuse the ironwright flares. Of course if you use white ora or eonake weapons then you can do away with the blessing part altogether and just cast the spell for the flare type when it runs out or any time to change them. I think its worth it for the utility of not having to seek out a bless all the time.
