This year for the holidays I wanted to setup a transmitter for the music from our display, this way I could just set a radio out there tuned to the channel instead of running a speaker out there, also people could tune to the channel on their car radio.

Anyways, a few things I'm not quite sure about. A) How would this work with playing music from my computer? Do I have to buy a particular kind of transmitter? Is it as simple as just plugging it into a speaker slot on my computer and it would transmit music from my computer?

2) I read around and apparently it's against FCC regulations to setup this kind of transmitter near an airport, anyone have any idea how close is "near an airport"? I can't seem to find any specific answers. There is an airport about 4 miles from me and I"d hate to get the FCC on my case, them people are ruthless.

I doubt you can do anything in terms of radio transmission without (legally) having to comply by FCC regulations. When the alternative is to buy a God damned extension cord, I wouldn't mess with them.

Well, from my meager understanding of how it works is that as long as you buy a device that is FCC part 15 compliant you don't need a license. However it's pretty gosh dang vague how close is "too close" to an airport.
