View Full Version : --- error: SpellRanks.load: undefined method `minormental' for :@paladin:Symbol
I keep getting this error when logged in and it fucks up my universe (ie, makes lich die and be unresponsible and unusable).
Anyone have any ideas?

Not to be pedantic but I think you mean unresponsive.

Just another undead wizard cashing welfare checks and driving uninsured. I guess pointing that out makes me the bad guy, but stereotypes exist for a reason, folks.
was fixed now recurring again, very annoying
Tried removing my spell-ranks.dat file, hoping ruby would recreate it, no such luck, so just emptied it instead, now lich works (except things requiring that file, like waggle on others) and I get this error instead:
--- error: SpellRanks.load: marshal data too short
So after dicking around I just copied the, assumedly noncorrupted spell-ranks.dat file from my laptop install over to my desktop install and that seems to have fixed the issue.
and a couple days later the file gets corrupted again, new error this time "error: SpellRanks.load: dump format error(0x8)" but end result is the same, most lich scripts hang. Could it be perhaps that my file is 30,000 lines long?

Are you running it in some place weird? Dropbox folder, some other sort of share folder?
Sometimes, when at home and playing on my laptop I used shared version of lnet from my pc so all my settings and whatnot are consistent.
