Alright, I'm gonna start doing some pretty serious weight training again. I'm just looking for 1 thing to take, and right now I'm leaning towards HMB. I've taken it before and did see some results. My main goal is increasing lean muscle and maintaining weight. So I'm not looking to get huge, so no creatine or protein. Ideas?

I've always sworn by L-Carnitine and Creatine. I've been toying with the idea of HGH, but I dunno.

There are two kinds of suppliments... food and non-food.

You say you don't want to take "Protein"... well that's fine. But, you then have to eat enough protein in your diet or you will not gain muscle mass.

To eat enough protein, you have to eat a lot. Unless you break up the calories you need into 5-6 meals a day, there's no way that your body can assimilate it all in three meals. In other words, if you pig out three times a day to get all the protein that you need, you will get fat because your body simply can't digest it all at once.

If you can cook and prepare six meals a day, then more power to you, but it's not easy. This is why food suppliments (protein drinks, protein bars, and meal replacement shakes) are god if you are serious about working out.

You can lift all the iron in the world, but if you don't eat right, you will make little to no progress. This will make you frustrated, and you will most likely quit.

As far as non-food suppliments... take a multi-vitamin!! There's no way you can get everything you need from just food.

Creatine will help you build mass quickly because you can lift heavier weights while taking it. I understand if you don't want to take it though.

There's no magic pill out there, despite what the boxes say. I know it sounds trite, but it's so true.

My advice to you would be to take things that make it easier to stay in your routine. This is why food suppliments are key, because they help when you have no time. Also, Vitamin C (1000mg 2-3 times daily) can really help relieve soreness that might keep you out of the gym.

IMHO, fuck HMB. I've taken creatine, and I've taken Beta-gen (has HMB and taurine and tons of other shit)... it really makes no difference. Unless you kick your own ass in the gym and eat right, you will not get the body that you want. Train properly now, and then add HMB if you think it will help. The last thing you want to do is mind fuck yourself that you "can't train right without it".

Good luck!

Oh, and take before and after picks. It's a big motivator... don't think of it as vain.

I took Oxydrene for a while and it helped me improve my run time alot, which is a great exercise if you wanna maintain lean muscle, while still lifting weights.

Right, so you build up all this muscle mass by drinking tons of protien and iron every day while lifting heavy objects.

What happens if you stop lifting the heavy objects and keep drinking? Also, what happens after you’ve built up all this muscle mass and stop doing both?

The expression is to "pump iron". It means to work out.

This brings up a good point I guess... if you get a multivitamin, make sure it doesn't have iron.

Only evil women cursed with monthly bleeding need iron.

It depends on how long your body has been at the weight it's at.

For example, if you lost a lot of weight quickly, your body weight may not necessarily be "set" at your new weight. I'm sure you've seen people go on a crash diet, and quickly gain the weight back.

Well, it works the other way too. If you put on a lot of weight fast (muscle mass), and then suddenly return to your old habits and stop lifting, it will go away quickly.

If you have been at that weight for awhile, it won't go down so fast.

Why do you feel you need a supplement at all? If you wanna get strong, lean, and not bulky, hit the frickin pool...There is virtually no better way to get cut all over then to swim.

If ya don't like the pool, do some intensive hi rep muscle work...just make sure you do enough different excercises to work various muscle groups.

Jumping rope works wonders too.

Finally, get the hell off Gemstone! It's the anti-fitness specialist.

I know I said hi rep...and I meant it like, "Hi rep", cause your greeting just one more each time!

NO2, costly but godly. I'm no help with lean muscle though I'll tell you that right now. I've stated it before power is important to me. I'd say if you want lean muscle cardi in combination with your weight training is crucial.

CLA wouldn't be a bad choice either, while I personally have never tried it I've heard good things about it. EAS makes it.

Musclemaster.com is a good place to get your fix. I've used it for years and the prices are good.

Ohh yeah if anyone can get ahold of stenodoyl or stenodoyl2 (might not be a y in there) I'll pay for it + shipping + finders fee. Can't get it in the US anymore but that stuff was so sweet when it was legal. Fast hair and nail growth and some mood swings for the first week but it was butter after that

For Backlash:

It's already been stated, but if you stop and do nothing you will lose muscle tone and mass and eventually will either revert to your genetic pre-disposition or become fat(er).

Once a person has achieved the look they want, maintenance is fairly easy unless you want to look like a competing body builder 24-7. I go to the gym or work out at home 1-3 times a week depending on my schedule and I'm able to maintain 235 - 250 lbs flab free. I could probably go from defined to cut in less than two weeks if I wanted to, but keeping the cut look takes more time than I have.

Soulp:

There really isn't 1 thing to take that will be the cure-all. The best thing you can do is experiment for a month or two on what foods energize you without bloating you. Work out in the mornings, high repetition, lower weight. Drink lots and lost of water, don't ignore the protein, take aminos, and don't eat 4 hours before bed, 6-8 if you can.

Creatine does more than bulk. Lower the amount ingested and ingest half that at night with your last meal/snack, half after your morning workout with breakfast and aminos.

If you can take a trip to Brazil. Pick up some deca or some primo. I'll pay you 20% over what you paid so will one of my friends. Then we all work out together. Primo preferred.

Primobolin is awesome shit. Great strength gains. I've heard great things about Anavar as well.
