View Full Version : Rarest metals?
I'm curious what you guys consider are the rarest metals around game right now.
Personally I keep leaning toward quicksilver. I only know of 3 items with it. And haven't seen them around for awhile.
Ice age metals don't really count Because some of them you would be lucky to find one item and they will be changed if you get work done.
Urglass is kinda rare but still found in rift.
What do you guys think?

All 3 quicksilver items are still on active accounts.
Even if the characters they're on don't get out much.

Metal means little these days unless it comes with properties. They'll even lighten glaes to minimum weights now with no regard that it is supposed to be a heavy metal, while imflass is supposed to be light, etc. I would like to see a return to more metal properties having meaning, other than veil iron which now apparently means "unable to be enchanted or further ensorcelled" and nothing else.
I do like some of the new metals they've introduced. Zelnorn and kroderine in particular are very cool. I would say those and coraesine are the three metals with the most interesting properties.

What are you talking about, I log in like once a week! That's a lot of time.

The new cmans make some of those metals have properties that you can use. I'm not saying they're the best in the world given how dramatic the stamina costs are for stealing a completely random spell for 30 seconds for 40 stamina...
but it's better than nothing?

Only marginally. I would agree wholeheartedly if you could further improve upon them, but someone decided to give veil iron in particular a back-handed compliment by letting it be useful for those skills, but reaffirm that it is intended to be dead metal. IE: you can't improve it.

veil also drops just enough as trash weapons to be not all that rare, alot like golvern really, veil needs a new useful ability to justify the inability to enchant it
