I need to re-format, I have too much bad crap on this computer. I don't know alot about computers, but I have a trojan somehow I can't get rid of and my anti-virus can't get rid of it either... programs I have no idea what the hell they are, are running and I can't get rid of those either and it's driving me insane... I just want to re-format... I can't find my recovery disk... Anyone good with getting rid of this crap can you IM me or post back?

What anti-virus software are you using?
I'd suggest getting Norton Internet Security to prevent shit like trojans from getting on your hard disk to begin with. Another good program I use is Pest Patrol, which gets rid of spyware and adware and things of that nature.
The good thing about Norton is that they have continuous updates so that if there are new viruses, it'll hopefully catch them. No program is fool proof, though.
Programs that are running that you can't close..I'd suggest doing CTRL-ALT-DEL and checking under Processes to see what programs are running that you have no idea what they are. END the process, then find the file in My Computer.
Also, if you go to Start > Run > MSCONFIG, there will be a start-up tab in there. It lists all the programs that start up whenever your computer starts up. I'd uncheck the ones that don't look friendly.
Hope this helps.

P.S. Some anti-virus programs allow you to quarantine your hard drive while it tries to destroy the virus. Again, I dunno what kinda anti-virus program you're using.

Using AVG and I use ad-aware.. and the programs won't go away, and neither will the trojans

Have any of your stuff backed up onto CD or another hard drive?
If I was in your situation, and doing what I originally said didn't work, I'd stick another hard disk in there, copy the programs I need onto the second hard drive (or CD or tape drive), and then reformat the other one.

P.S. If you want to reformat, go to the command prompt (which is probably in Accessories), or you can restart your computer in DOS mode (if that's available). You're going to want to go from the C: drive. Type: format C:. At that point it will display a warning and ask you to proceed. If you have Windows 9x/200x on a CD, you should be all set.

haha the exact same thing happened to me last week with a stupid trojan that AVG couldn't remove. It was running constantly and there were literally 1000's of files it created. I had to reformat in the end which was er.... interesting. Just don't do what I did and think by deleting the files the virus has infected it will go away. I deleted some stuff I kind of needed! hehe.

Reformatting's not too bad, but it might be overreacting a little.

Makes my computer run nice and smoothly. Of course all my data is stored on other partitions and drives.

Ok, a few small pointers with AVG and Ad-Aware.
Ad-Aware most likely removed the trojans and put them in quarantine, just like it does with all spyware. If you DON'T delete the quarantine files, then AVG will still report them as being in your system. ;)
