I can't decide because they're all good.
OK, I've thrown my hat in the ring. Perfect grilled cheese is just perfect.

Hey man thats not on the list! Bologna and cheese would be my first choice and I better have some Guldens Brown Mustard and Lay's Potato Chips to go with it damn it!

But more Ruben porn. The first is Carnegie Deli in NY. The second is Jerry's Deli in LA. The pastrami of life!

Reuben is always available for write-in though.

Pastrami, piping hot and piled high on warm rye bread spread with spicy brown mustard with melted swiss cheese. ...I'm hungry. :(

Edit: For the purposes of the poll, though, BLT with no contest. :P

There is this place down the street that serves the most amazing burger, which I consider the king of sandwiches. It's Kobe beef, topped with pork belly, apples, blueberry jam, brie, and some secret bread that is fucking amazing. I don't mind spending the $20 for it. Damn, now I need to go masturbate.

Androidpk

If it's $20 then it isn't real kobe beef, no matter how delicious it is.

Yeah, Kobe is allowed in the us but its extremely expensive. An authentic Japanese Kobe steak can run north of $300. They aren't making it into burgers.

The us eats something like 14 million tons of beef every year but generally only 70-75 tons of authentic Kobe beef are imported to the us. Generally, any restaurant claiming to serve a Kobe burger is scamming. It's probably not wagyu either. Most people read Kobe burger and think it must be good.

It takes great bread to make a great sandwich. There's a place near where I work that puts a thin slice of granny smith apple on their BLT, served on sourdough.

Bologna and cheese reminded me of Russell Baker's Francs & Beans (http://chip.choate.edu/bbcswebdav/institution/English/dloeb/webpages/Courses/Franks%20and%20Beans.htm)

If we are going to talk breakfast sandwiches nothing beats a bacon, egg, and cheese on a Kaiser from a bodega in Manhattan.

I cannot replicate it at home. So I do breakfast burritos. Warm flour tortila, american cheese, crispy hash brown, bacon, and an over easy egg so it pours all that yolky goodness around inside. Copious salt and pepper should be added before the wrap up also.

You are 99.9% right. Substitute the bacon with ham, and you're 100% right. Street vendor ham, egg, & cheese on a kaiser roll is the best. breakfast. sandwich. ever.

A fried egg and bacon burger...if we're counting burgers as sandwiches, with jalapeņo jelly. Otherwise an open faced crab and artichoke cheddar baked sandwich.

Also, bacon isn't red meat so you should try it, it's pork fat! The other white semi-meat. :D

ETA: home made burger, sandwich from a local restaurant called Simon and Seaforts.
