Darphin draws his drakar dagger. It makes a strange sound as it slides from his pack, like the distant scream of a forlorn soul.

Kurapira breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.

>
(Darphin watches as the blood comes to the surface, his lips parting in a cold sneer showing his sharp fangs protuding from underneath.)

You continue to meditate on recent events.

(Kurapira offers her right arm to Darphin, the blood from the wound now making tiny droplets on the ground.)

HAHAHAHAHAHAZ all kinds of things just came together for me now.
That line about the cut healing without "so much as a scar" from the blood off the tongue is a direct ripoff from "The Last Vampire" series by Christopher Pike. I have a great memory for phrases and names from books I've read, even when I read them in like... the seventh grade. Un-creative much, Krapiera?
Also, the name of Klaive and Krapiera's daughter, Suzama, is from that same series. I knew I recognized it, I just didn't realize from where until now. What a bunch of originals they are.

It sucks that people are treating Gemstone like it's a free-form roleplaying game. It is a structured, medieval based fantasy game. There are rules, it's just that there's no one enforcing them.

Ok, I'm going to admit to something and it's weird, but Ive read the vampire chronicles in order, over 65 times, Yeah they're my favorite books. I recall the healing part, but Suzama isn't someone from those books, unless it's from the newer ones (Havn't read those much) Can you point it out to me where she is?
I remember Kurapira saying she WAS from a book, but I can't recall which one.
And yeah, that was a little overboard with the acting shit.

I thought they're actions were pretty well done until the vampire healing shit. Then I was like 'Gahhh....amateaurs'(not to mention ACT abuse). I play a pretty freaky character and she does stuff like that, but only in private with her little circle of freaks.

I've got nothing against ritualistic rites of passage, twisted torture methods or anything of that nature. These things have their place in Elanthia.
These three ( two ) can obviously do well with roleplaying. They just don't want to do it within the rules of the game.

If they're going to do the immortal bit, can they at least do that crap in private? Bad enough they publicized the log of the stupid ritual to bring the future version of the daughter to the present day through a time void. That made me laugh for days. What was good about it is that they didn't involve anyone else.
Do that crazy kinky shit in private, please. If you're not going to play by the rules with everyone else, don't play a multiplayer game with set rules and find another MUD/MUCK to play in that allows that crap.

No, they don't. They RP sometimes, which is something anyone can do. I know I'm not a great roleplayer or anything, but these two are not any better then Warclaidhm. For reasons like, being OOC many times, Warning people for things that happen on a message board, using words like "PWND" in game, abusing the act verb, etc.
Sure they can roleplay on occasion (if you count abusing the act verb roleplaying), but 99% of the time they are playing..... they aren't.

I agree!
I have a character that uses act alot, but it's always for like twitching and poking peoples wounds and talking to her inanimate objects. Hell, I created another forum name here to reply to a post about her so people wouldnt know but I don't care anymore. I play Mykala. She's a crazy wacked out empath, but I always, always try not to do things that would be considered ACT abuse.

Not for nothing, but there are at least a dozen or so items that can be associated with vampires/vampiristic actions. So, I think that constitutes being able to act like a vampire in game.
Though, I find in this particular situation, I do also agree that the ACT verb was abused with the healing thingy.

I believe the log was an instance of solid roleplaying, but it is a bit OOG for Gemstone. As others have said, this isnt free form roleplay. We are bound by the nature of Elanthia, and should not exceed the criteria that our roleplaying environment allows.

Oh yeah. On topic stuff... um...
Whether vampires are IG or not, the fact is that they were doing it out in the open is just wrong IMHO. Vampires, the ones that are written about in literature, didn't go out in broad daylight and munch on each other. They reserved that to private quarters, they would seclude themselves or keep it within each other's presense. They didn't just start sucking on people with others watching. It was taboo because they knew it could mean the end of their life. It attracts too much attention to themsel....
Ha! Nevermind. I just answered my own question about why the wonder twins were doing it. For the attention, regardless of whether it's acceptable or not.

To answer your question, Cat, Suzama is a character that is "recalled" in the fourth or fifth book as being a spiritual-type person that Sita knew in the past. When Sita meets the woman that is having the Jesus-like baby, she's reminded of Suzama and does lots of reminiscing about her while she's trying to hunt down HER vampire/whatever kid, Kalika.
The line with the tongue-blood healing the wound is damn near a word-for-word ripoff about how Sita heals her VICTIMS after she bites them (because her blood has magical healing properties in small amounts). It's also stupid, because if Kurapira's blood has similar properties, why wouldn't the cut on her arm just seal right up as soon as she cut it open and her blood gushed all over? OR MAYBE IT'S ONLY MAGIC BLOOD FROM THE TONGUE THAT DOES THAT.

Vampires weren't the first or the only people to drink blood. And the ACT abuse is slight at best. Why I'm defending them is because they atleast are trying to RP beyond themselves, unlike 99% of the rest of these boards.
