I'd put money on it being not pure veil iron since I don't think veil iron slabs go out. Probably a merchant error while altering a perfectly forged weapon. The forging is easy enough to swing check against a plain jane mattock.

There have been at least two veil iron slabs released. There is a full in someones player shop currently. 4x enchant though, so not veil iron. Could confirm this with a GM.

I dont think the actual metal matters for the spell cleave and spell parry cmans, as long as the descruption is veil iron. But the snake makes it impossible to inspect anyway. If anybody has an ensorcelling sorcerer or knows one willing id be happy to have it checked for ensorcellment. I tested the AvD myself which is why i am advertising it as perfect.

And a failed enchant could take veil iron to 4x. Unless veil iron isnt enchantable?

Lots going on with this piece. The snake is functional and showy, with lots of zests and rotating flares (poison, slow, imobile)

Additionally, it's sancted, and is perfectly forged. The actual enchant on it is +17, so i'm assuming imflass base, but it can not be inspected, so no way to tell. 2-handed weapon, seems to be mattock based.
