On the officials it looks like Blink weapons have been nerfed a bit. Anyone played with one recently that can tell us what's happened to'em?

I own an older blink weapon. I recently used it in a hunt and noticed that the flare rates have changed. I spoke to another blink owner and they confirmed they experienced similar flare rates. This other player also noted that the "poke" function would not work in certain rooms.
Has the blink code been modified intentionally to decrease flares or is this a bug?

It's not a bug.

The blinks now work as santify weapon 1625. You must recast the spell after every flare.

So instead of making Sanctify closer to what blink did...they moved blink closer to 1625? Wrong direction with that..

Wow. How lame.

I'm not sure if this is true (hopefully not), or just trolling...
If it is true, I feel that every person who went to RtCF and got a blink as a major win should be up in arms over it.
If it isn't true, and it was a far more sensible change (like standard flare rate), everyone knew the low-level thing was borked and needed an adjustment.
If it is the standard flare rate, I would consider this a boost to blink weapons for everyone but a wizard that was using 501. On a 20 minute hunt I would get maybe 3 ewave flares.

Virtually certain the 1625 thing was a troll. Here's more from Emeradan:
The fix was that lower level flares were flaring much more often than the original design intended. Now flares should be equal across the board. And yes, this flare correction coincided with the enchant/ensorcell updates, which meshes with previously mentioned notable changes in flares.
Since this isn't a festival related discussion, let's pick it up elsewhere on the boards.

After just hunting with a blink weapon, I would not call this a nerf except for people that were using 501. If you use ewave or any other higher level spell, it's actually a boost.
6 ewave flares in 4 minutes versus what usually would have taken at least a hunt and a half.

so basically, it sounds like if they made the flares all the same rate. Like standard flares.
Def better for the higher level spells, small nerf for the lower level spells. 501 mstrike got screwed, but spikethorn mstrike could have gotten a boost.

Spikethorn would be epic!
Or Elemental Strike/Major Fire/Immolate with a hasted RT...

Huh, yeah I was hoping to win a blink major for a 501 warmage build but I guess immolate might not be such a bad idea. Can you put 435 in'em? :)

It seems you have to know the spell, and not just have access to it via training, for it to flare now.
Examples:
A rogue that doesn't know ewave use to be able to have a wizard friend cast 410 in the blink weapon and use it, this doesn't work.
A bard that doesn't know 435 cannot get a blink to use 435.
I have one, and it seems it activates a lot less than a standard flare now. I'm getting one every 12-15 swings if that. I'm not calling this a win at all.

Well, I don't know. 100 mill for a say 7x MCW weapon that can flare (nearly) any offensive spell.. still cheap.

I'm not talking about a 7X MCW. Some people originally paid 100 mil for a blink certificate which was just a plain blink with no weighting. Also flaring once every 12-15 swings doesn't sound very good.

True for the certificate part. Course, they could add weighting.
