So I was just perusing old threads and I came across this one talking about enchanting from a long time ago (http://forum.gsplayers.com/showthread.php?4516-Enchant-Item-%28925%29-Document&highlight=forging), I know, I was bored, but what caught my attention was the statement that a major project is anything over +22.

I am new to wizards and mine is still young, but it was my understanding that a major project is anything higher than a 4 enchant, which by SIMU's definition a +22 would be. Has anyone tried taking imflass to '5' while working on another major project or is this outdated or incorrect info?

Apparently I don't know what I'm talking about.

Carry on.

Those enchanting projects one rank above captains and one below lieutenant colonels.

Did you know that Captain Crunch is actually a commander and not a captain?

A major project is anything over 4x.

That is my understanding as well Methais, hence the reason I was confused when I stumbled across a thread that said it was anything over +22.

I never noticed that Methais, actually it looks like he may have received a promotion at some point and skipped Lieutenant Commander entirely since I saw some old pics that only showed two stripes on his jacket and current ones show three.

Technically it's anything +21 and higher, since +21 is still considered 5x.

That has been my experience as well Methais, I was curious so I just tried to start an imflass weapon I had raised to +17 while I am working on a major and it will not let me start it.

Yep that's why. Taking it to +22 would make it 5x, hence a major project.

It used to work that way. You could enchant imflass items to +22 and have it not count against your major project, but it was changed at some point in time. I believe it was also greatly reduced temper times because +22 was considered 4x, +27 was 5x and +32 was 6x so you never saw the 7x pour time. I took a hiatus when that was working and came back to it being fixed so I have no idea when it changed.

Bingo...ah memories.

I took a few to +32, at that time those were very decent off-the-shelf scripts and well worth the time even starting at +17 witchwood.
