"Hey everyone, due to some controversy... the quest at RtCF will be changing slightly, which will add another step to the mini task list. The extra step will hopefully tie in a little more meaning to the attunement process. The changes won't be live until Platinum's run in July. Figuring this additional step shouldn't be too much harder for anyone who completed the quest without a walkthrough or help.

What controversy is he talking about?

The quest updates are ready for the next run. There was a small (unintentional) preview during the Lite run last night. Hopefully the extra step will also bring more of the story to the foreground as well, as I felt it was largely missed during the last full run!

I still wonder what "controversy" he was referring to.

"Yo guys, we're hearing this thing wasn't time-consuming enough for ya, so.."

Yeah, I stumbled across Wyrom at the new area last night. :) It looks pretty damn cool. I wish it had been part of the quest when I did it.

You go saying things like that, and I'll have to buy a ticket to the next Lite run for my ranger. ;P

Still bonding with my wil-o-wisp. I think it's rebelling ever since I tried to feed it ale and is making me work hard to regain its trust.

Damn little bugge!

Strange thing: mine says it's completely bonded now, but it's still not able to do some of the actions listed for fully bonded wisps via analyze. I can whisper to have it locate people, but neither POKE to wear it on the finger nor TURN to have it change my eye color seem to work.

I noticed that the wisp didn't turn into a ring when poked if they were hungry, they just "danced around your hand". Not sure if that is the issue, but try getting them sated before attempting to poke.

I was always able to get the wisp sated before I was fully bonded. Now after feeding it 10 herbs within a 1 hour period its still hungry! I can wear it on my shoulder, and wear it as "light" around my finger but still can't do the eye change action. It just spins around me and nothing else.
How much will a fully bonded wisp need to become sated?

Thanks for any help people can supply.

When you wear the Wisp, either on your finger or shoulder, it will become hungry much sooner than when it is in the amulet. As for turning the eye color... well, I'm assuming you've done it before, or are you still trying to figure out how to do it?

I'm in the same boat as Shimeria. Thanks, I didn't realize wearing it makes it hungrier! Good to know. I never did the eye-changing action myself.

Still trying to figure it out I thought it was turn....

I do get the dust though!
You extend the tree bark toward the orchid will-o'-wisp. The will-o'-wisp hovers over to the bark and begins absorbing it. Once devoured, the will-o'-wisp flickers several shades of purple, clearly looking pleased. The will-o'-wisp writhes about in your hand, and some luminous purple dust drops to the ground.
Roundtime: 2 sec.
R>get dust
You pick up some luminous purple dust.
>look dust
You see nothing unusual.
>lick dust
You lick the purple dust in your hand, and it gives your tongue a little zap!

Waving it at a random dark elf produced amusing results for me. <ducks> The dust, I mean.

Turning the wisp hasn't changed my characters eye color either

I'd be happy to tell you how it's done, if you really want to know, PM me. It is a puzzle, though, not very difficult to figure out, but it took me a good 15 minutes. Turning alone (while holding the wisp) is not enough to change eye color.
