Dex and I have decided that we want to do our next meet up in Vegas. We have not decided on dates yet, but the end of September I think works for both of us. My birthday is 9/20, and it would be kind of cool to spend the weekend there, celebrating. What do you think? Who would be interested in joining us?

Ironically I think that's a weekend I'm going to be there for a bachelor party. Err, yep. 09/20. My birthday is 5 days later.

Will there be craft beer? If so, I'm there.

Craft beer. Uh. Stef will have to answer that one. I'm all hard liquor over here.

I'll pick up some local stuff from here, you pick some up from there, and we'll share/trade. Here is my favorite local brewery. http://www.thebruery.com/

Going to the tasting room this Saturday. I've had the White Oak, Mischief, Sour in the Rye, Saison Rue, Trade Winds(their summer ale, freaking awesome.)

The bartender at Comme Ca (cosmopolitan) is a freak with drinks. Trained under all of the all stars and award winners at Pegu club in NY and trains high end mixologists now. Makes most of his ingredients at home and knows more about whiskey and liquor in general that I could have imagined. Nothing goes into a drink that isnt handmade/squeezed, etc. other than the alcohol. Ive had drinks at pegu, the varnish, some of the top spots...this guy is my favorite hands down. I want to hear about it.

Hear about it? Didn't you know you're coming?

My father came back with some pretty sweet hotel prices (in comparison to those on Vegas.com), so anyone interested in going and possibly getting in on these deals, please IM me and we can figure out plans etc. The three hotels he came back with are the Paris (best part of the strip, most expensive), Planet Hollywood (strip), and the Rio (off-strip but not far, like half a mile and easily cabbed, crazy cheap and this is where he stays when he goes. He loves it.)

I wish I could go! I love Vegas. If I wasn't flying out to Canada to be in my bff's wedding that following weekend, I probably could have. Aww.

We are doing Thursday through Sunday as well. I think we settled at first on PH but I wanna do a little more research on the Paris. It ends up being like $5 more a night and I think it's supposed to be nicer, but Iunno. I will read some reviews once I get around to it.

I've stayed at both - and pretty much everywhere else. The killer part about PH is the mall attached. Plenty of stores for cheap eats and a quick beer pick me up. Rooms are very nice, with good views of the Bellagio fountains if you get the right one.

My top choice in that budget range is definitely PH.

OH also - are there any "surprise" fees at PH? I was reading something about the Paris springing those upon check-in.

it was almost solid 40 minutes before they took our order. Because they were busy, both of our servers AND our "Captain", bringing us anti-pasta, fresh cheeses carved off 40 pound wheels that they carried to the table, bringing wines, etc. It was so fantastic and well worth the money we spent. Very intimate.

It looks pretty expensive, but it is my birthday after all. Iunno, can see what the consensus is. I'd be down, I think.

FYI, as Dex isn't going to make it this is off.. for now. We'll say there's a pin in it.

I'm going to be heading to NY this weekend instead, I am 99% sure, and I believe I'm going to meet up with Sean in the city Friday night for birthday drinks. If anyone else wants to join, they're more than welcome. Just let me know.

Who is down for a Vegas meetup in 2 weeks?

I was just in Vegas two weeks ago. It turns out those giant yard length hanging cups full of strawberry margarita and gambling don't mix.

So, you should avoid that if you have a gathering

Yeah, no strawberry anything!!! LOL
