What programs do you view and edit your scripts with? I've been using notepad to view and edit so far just because it was the first thing I tried and it worked. I haven't tried to write any of my own scripts yet. What program are you using to write your scripts?

I use Notepad++
http://notepad-plus-plus.org/
It just offers a little more for easier to view tabbing and coloring for tags.

Having just started using Textpad in the last few weeks, I'm going to agree with BW. It's awesome, and I use the regular expression search function all the time now.

Sublime Text 2. You can select "Ruby" in the bottom-right corner (when you're looking at a .lic file) and it will give you proper syntax highlighting, which will make the most confusing wall of text look comprehensible. Sometimes.

if you go to the top "view" tab, and select the syntax option, then "open all with current extension as..." you'll never have to change for .lic files again. can also do that from the language tab you are talking about at the bottom too
Also I recommend Sublime Text 2 with Package Control (http://wbond.net/sublime_packages/package_control) Add-on installed.
